I get your theory
but.....
fixed or not, you still have the exact same odds if it wasn't
50/50 coin flip- much better odds then if you go to vegas- my advice, if you think the game is fixed, don't cap, just pick which team "vegas or the nfl" wants to win- people make it seem easy to spot which games are fixed- so bet all those games and you win huge
the game isn't fixed- officials are human beings- I mess up at work daily and I work in an environment without millions of people watching and plenty of time to double check my work- I cannot imagine having to make every single call in a football game- and to have to do it 100% correct or else be labeled a cheater-
do people really not think that someone wouldn't of written a book or done an interview for millions of dollars if this was the case- if they could expose the NFL they would be millionaire for life-
now, perhaps one or two bad eggs are involved and have their own agendas, but to think the ENTIRE NFL is corrupt is crazy- they are the richest corporation that only has to provide product once a week for half of the calendar year- why risk the easy money>?
c`mon...people are blowing off steam after bad beats..we`ve all been there...cut your fellow posters some slack...let `em bitch a little....:grins:
i don`t think anyone is saying that there is institutionalized fixing of nfl games(ie sanctioned by the nfl or ncaa)..that is silly.....obviously the nfl has way too much at stake.....but illegal gambling is one of the main staples of organized crime.. to believe that it`s totally unthinkable for an illegal enterprise to not possibly consider an opportunity to influence outcomes of qtrs.,halves, point totals(you name it...any sport in general that`s garnering big-time gambling action ) given the enormous amounts of money involved I think is extremely na?ve.....my god,how much money do you guys think changed hands when the ravens beat the steelers two weeks ago?....how many teasers, moneyline parlays etc went down in flames across the country...the world?...the take must have been astronomical...
I`m not saying there was a fix involved...I`m saying that where theres that much money at stake, theres always the "potential" for some sort of corruption....what`s the saying?.."power corrupts...absolute power corrupts absolutely"...how many politicians take office for the first time without extreme wealth and emerge on the other side millionaires?...
as I said,it`s a $95 billion a year enterprise(with 93 billion of it gambled illegally)....being realistic, where theres that much illegal money involved,it`s hard to believe that everything is completely kosher ALL the time...it`s contrary to human nature........
I don`t know that theres any sort of fixing or shenanigans involved..i`d like to think theres not.....but I`ve been around long enough to know it`s incredibly na?ve to dismiss the possibility out of hand just because the thought that they aren`t always getting a fair shake makes some uncomfortable....that`s life....
95 BILLION a year,nfl and ncaa football(roughly a 6 month season.....that`s more than the 2014 gdp of Milwaukee.:lol

.......star wars has taken in around a billion so far.....:toast:
