very interesting, but some of these rates dudes are getting are unreal. 26.67% to consolidate credit cards? Seems kind of high to me.

I've been watching Prosper for a while, it seems to me that it's better for someone with bad credit and can't get money thru conventional ways. I also think it's a good investment on the lending side. It's basically like a mutual fund, if you have
5k you want to invest you can make a good return on it and spread it out among borrowers so if one doesn't pay you really don't get hurt much.

I read a little of the forum and having a borrower default on you is a high risk by majority of the lenders posts.

Aggressive funds out there have better advantages and can pay out at a marginal 12% upward. Youre pretty much locked in to the borrowers ability to pay
Still a neat concept.

raining in Tampa so I'm stuck in the house... thought I reply.

Later guys.

On the course!
Seems kinda, "I don't know".

Sounds great to reap 20% on your coin, but you need to put some serious cash out there to make it worth your while.

If you lose 7% of your money to phonies, which would seem quite low, you are now making only 13% back.

Still.....I'm sure there are plenty of decent people out there who need a fresh start, and can't get one from a fuking bank.

how many scams must be on there?

if a bank won't lend them or a finance company why would anybody?

what happens if they don't pay?

i really haven't check the site out, obviously, but how do they get a credit rating there? why would you lend to a D or C+?

looks like it could be a good way to pick up chicks maybe. :00hour

no thanks.

I think there are tons of people who are capable of paying off a loan, but had a bad shake a while back. If you took it in the ass financially, it might take 10 years to get that off of your record, but you might be more than able to pay down a loan now.

oh, i definitely agree cause i've been there, but do you want to gamble lending people money that can't get approved elsewhere?

i'm not setup to make collections, etc.

i've lent a ton of money to friends and family and guess what? they were going to pay it back too. :142smilie

That's what I say, too.

I'm sure the lion's share of people mean well, but if you get on the hook for a deadbeat or two......there goes any profit.

Seemed pretty risky from a loaner standpoint to me too. The idea is catchy at first and sounds like fun. If you could just get the rat bastards to pay you back!
