The distance on the course is measured as straight line from the tee to middle of the green. You can pretty much double that amount on the number of steps you take off line, the distance in between each, the little steps you take on and around each green, this can easily stretch to 7 miles worth of walking in each round. I also used to walk and tote em for 36-45 holes, back in my teens:mj07: . I get tired now carrying em from the trunk to the back of my RIDING CART :142smilie Winning the bet is probably not riding on him breaking 100, it is on him finishing and I say he does not make it:scared

this was posted at 530 eastern. this was the last update.

just came from the course, Erick shot something like 85 87 and then 46 on the first 9 of his third round. I'd say he's a favorite (which isn't good for me).

He's tired, but playing safe and playing well.

Well for starters it isnt 28 miles....7200 yards is a tad over 4 miles times 4 is about 16 miles, not 38...15 hours or so to do it isnt exactly a break neck pace. I used to do 3 rounds a day in similar conditions with no cash on the line.

Christ! We got the worlds greatest athlete's right here at madjacks :mj07: looks like Chad got competition :scared

Yea well I USED to do a lot of shit too. But I was a kid then and I ain't anymore, and neither is Lindgren. Maybe he is a workout buff, because sitting on his ass playing poker 12 hours a day doesn't bode well for pulling this off. He looks like the workout type though.

I would be surprised if he did it, maybe he put the Amarillo Slim on em and has been preparing for it for a while?

I think I could do it but would def need a couple weeks or even 2 months to get ready.

On the course!
He's putting in some good "pace", if he's only got 27 to go as of 2:30 Vegas time.

That's a solid 2 hours per nine....... Maybe!!!!

Now, gotta see if he can stay under a hundy which was a part of the wager.

The Golf is not even the issue here really if he is any kind of player. You could play so conservatively and swing easy. I figure he will it in the neighborhood of 340 shots, but 120 of those or so will be putts, and a lot more wedges and chips. Probably only 100 full shots or so, far from blisters and bleeding hands. I have hit several hundred in a day, but my hands were used to it.

The walking is the issue, along with the heat. I think he hustled them.

Not saying it is easy but he ought to be able to do this. My biggest concern would have been how crowded the course and whether that would prevent me from getting 4 rounds in.

I played 36 holes at Ballybunion in 2004 and my ankles are still recovering (spent most of the day standing on an angle other than the vertical off the side of a sand dune). Although both rounds were under 100, a 3rd round would have definately hit triple figures (or the coronary ward, whichever came first).

I would be betting against this guy at evens unless he is a low single figure player.

EXCLUSIVE: Erick Lindgren Wins $340k Prop Bet
72 holes. 14 hours. 100 degree heat. 1 winner.

Erick Lindgren took down his $340k golfing prop bet at Bear's Best golf course.

After starting the day at 5:45am ("I had to run to catch up with him on the first hole. I wasn't even ready yet." said his caddy), Lindgren made it through his first two rounds with relative ease. However, he started grinding towards the end of his third round. But after shooting a 48 on his final front nine and being at 69 after 13, the buy-outs began. Gavin Smith, who was originally in for $100k, bought out for $60k. Chris Bell and others bought out as well. Ivey remained on the hook for his full amount.

Catch a brief recap of the action on The TOKE on RawVegas.tv below and coverage of the entire day's play tomorrow afternoon.

Photo of Diora Baird because she is not Erick Lindgren after 72 holes of golf.
