Before I get too excited, I just gotta make this "disclaimer" --> DON'T go overboard on any SS play, POOPOO can/ and does happen despite the best of plans. :nono:
Any really smart person would just laugh at us, using somewhat complex statistical/mathematical formulas to predict a sporting event winnah.

Ok. now I can get excited :00hour :firing: :bigun: :s6: :mj05: :0053
.... ... . and that's just for starters. I was gonna write a little about how the $$ makes it's picks but I think the boyz just want the picks. EASILY, most of the picks below are very STRONG plays; they don't look fishy (great sign), a nice mix of dogs and favorites, and unanimous picks for the 3 ratings the SHEET assigns them (I'll explain that part "someday").

Here goes... . .

Oregon Quackers -10: only a SOLID pick (which ain't bad), but it's nearer the bottom of this listing for this unusual week. I agree with this PLick but I absolutely HATE rooting for this team. For me, think I'll use this one as a parlay "starter" because I only put down a fraction of a unit on most of the parlays I make and I really like to try to get off to a good start with a game that starts before Sat. Plus I won't feel badly if Stanford beats these little, tricky, lightening fast bastages. :mj07:

Gators -10

Missouri -14: gonna shave this one down to -13 in a two or three teamer.

Virginia +7: $heet has a way of finding doggie M.L. wieners even though it tells me to play a regular lined play on it's underdog picks. I just don't know if this is one those nice M.L. wieners? UGH.. Minny was THE ONE for last week. Not going with that one as a money liner last week is still bugging me.

E. Mich +2 1/2

Cornhuskers +7: Damn, I just can't see this one. I'm REALLY tempted to go against the SHEET on this one.. .. and then pay the price for doing it as usual.

Wisc. -7 1/2 (-7 ?): This team has been berry good to me. :) ("Livian Hernandez after world series for Marlins years ago")

Ariz. St. -7 1/2: Another "friendly" team for me/us(?)

Ark. St +6: Money liner? Anybody?

Tex -6 1/2: I think this game is unplayable, just toooo iffy. Dang $heet doesn't agree with me on that.

Got a personal pick for this week; it doesn't go on the record though -> Tex/W. Virg OVER 56

NOW, let's see what happens.

Best of luck to you, LP. I saw your post right on top and checked it out. I didn't run the Baylor game through the SS but I think you got yourself two very nice powerhouses going for you.

Hope you like one of the 4 listed at the bottom of my listing; thems are four of the strongest $$ picks for this week.

EDITED: missed Joefrog's reply. Joe, maybe I won't feel so bad if the Quackers moider them Birds after all now that I know you two players are on them.

:0034 One of your #1 stalkers thanks you for the info! :0074

My 3 picks that I plan on tailing the sheet on are-

Arizona State**

Gators** (I liked Vandy and the points on this one- so I should put a nickel on Fla!!) :mj07:

Nebraska**

Oh yeah, of course I will make a small action play on Ducks tonight. Just to give me a reason to stay up and watch a good game and then call off sick in the morning!!

Good Luck everyone! :toast:

Plenty of STUFF

Plenty of STUFF

VIEWERS, I'm in a writing mood so IF LONG POSTS put ya to sleep, move on cause you're time would prob. be better spent figuring out the football puzzles at hand for this week's games. At the bottom of this thing, there's a teaser though.

bigs, I can't blame anybody who just poked their nose in here to see what the "newbie" (actually, I'm not a newbie; I posted college footballers based on the $heet in the past in here) has when I first started posting the SHEET'S picks for week 5 this season. It is too risky actually tailing somebody who doesn't have a record. BUT, maybe you got lucky with the SS's picks early on and, since it came out of the gate like Secretariat this season and really hasn't missed a step since - you're well ahead? Like almost enough at this point to make the whole season satisfying enough this early? If so, DON'T GIVE ENOUGH BACK to make it extremely UNsatisfying! For me, I doubt this will happen, BUT -> IF I get really well enough ahead, I put the dang brakes on  , completely , sleep VERY well at night, and make sure I resume running and posting the SHEET picks for the BOWL games. Just my 2 cents, big. I can give the computer and me a rest asfaras footsballers go and spend more time with the sport I have the most fun with - HOSS WACIN :)
MUCH more fun too cause I got all the spreadsheets I need for that game in my head and don't have to follow my "BREADWINNER"to tell me what to play. Like I wrote once before - I'm a graduate, Horseology major, from the School of Hard Knox in that field of study. ;)

Giambi-Juice, I'll be pulling for ya (and me too) re. that Fla game. Two times you got burnt by not going with the SS and now you reversed your own pick to go WITH THE SS> I'll be really disappointed if it loses for us. Actually, FLA. is one of the very strong SS picks.

DT, sorry I've been neglecting the Philly "Dirt bombs" lately; saw your post, after the races, about "where's Jimbo" when you and Hammy got into some trouble with them Philly dirt bags the other day in the Horse Forum. Tellya, having to put the data into the computer for each college game is really time consumming and not much fun. And for those who continually let me know you've visited my threads, DON'T sweat it, I do that part for me and sharing it doesn't take much time at all. However, Besides, WINNING is FUN-A-PLENTY :0065 . Ya gotta follow the money trail, DT.

You didn't miss anything though, DT.... for the two days I skipped posting hosses, I hit one decent exacta on the first day that put me ahead for the day, but not by that much, it wasn't a Philly SUPPA BOMBER ... . and .. on the second day I hit TWO exactas (only 4 playable waces too) BUT both paid small and due to that plus the expense of buying too many tickets --> I actually came out behind a little for the day. NO biggie

Misc. stuff
Here's some interesting stuff... IF I could run the SS like I did in previous years when I could just cut n paste the data from the internet into it - I could, for the folks that have been visiting me up to now, run "games" between any two teams. Neat oh! Sorry, I just can't do that for all of yas or even any of yas this year. For whatever reason, I got ahead of schedule this week and I think I'll run Oregon vs. Bama to see what it comes up with. The prediction would be "valid" only if they played THIS WEEK. The SS could changes it's mind after if digests the remaining weeks of data for each of them. I'll post the results for this week after I run it. JUST NOW thought of something... I'll run that dream matchup AFTER Oregon vs. Stanford. The SHEET could use more data for OREGON cause I don't feed it any of the "bogus" data for the Oregon vs. Cream Puffs games. This game is relevant and will help the puter know more about the Ducks.

One other thing, I also have a NFL $$.

DON'T even think of it though. LOL See the NFLer I throw in sometimes as part of my personal picks? I don't even run the NFL SS for that pick, no time.
It did work OK, not nearly as comprehensive as the college football one and the college one works better anyways. It better cause it took twice as much time to make.

Last thang....

I'm anticipating a good SS week (actually, that's a no/no) so I gotta have some fun too. Going with a TEASER as my personal pick. BTW, TEASERS might be VERY, VERY bad for your gamblin health IMO. I almost never mess with them cause I THINK you'll ruin whatever ability you have to ever pick a regular lined game after getting used to that aphrodisiac (WOW, where did that word come from ??). You know bout them things - they look sooo dang EZ.

Dimes has a HUGE candy shop with these things and this one's a +10pts, ties lose, type of lollipop...
Got this one going @+195

Pending 5 Team Teaser (ties lose) Teaser tl 10fb & 7bk
Pending 11/9/13 12:00pm College Football 143 Missouri -4? * vs Kentucky
Pending 11/9/13 12:30pm College Football 145 Virginia +23? * vs North Carolina
Pending 11/9/13 12:00pm College Football 148 Florida pk * vs Vanderbilt
Pending 11/9/13 7:00pm College Football 165 Texas/West Virginia Over 46 *
Pending 11/10/13 4:05pm NFL Football 220 San Francisco 49ers +3 * vs Carolina Panthers

Whew, that's enough for now. G.L. MJers.

GL TW Jimbo!! I really think the Gators find some offense this weekend vs Vandy and of course the BIG RED.

I see that my TOY on Vandy/Fla at 43 has dropped to 42 at several books in Vegas, of course 84% on the UNDER, that only makes me giggle a bit inside and get ancy for the game to start NOW!! LOL

Hope ya nail your plays, cuz if you do, I DO!!

Later!!

Double Two, Nice going with the Charleston pick. Sorry to write that I don't look at results, picks, entries, or anything about any tracks EXCEPT Philly. Especially these days with the college footballers in action. My plate is just too full. Except for the Classic, I don't even know who won any of the Breeders Cup races. Mrs. "boski" had the Classic on the TV and I did watch, ONLY that race. Some horse racing fan I am, HUH? LOL

Funny thing, I made ONLY two comments before that race, (1) "I know that there "Will Take Charge" is one hell of a closer. (I caught that one when a big race at Monmouth was televised which was the only reason I watched and played it earlier this year.) and (2) "Throw out that "Macho hoss", I remember playing that one in one of the Triple Crowners and he choked and I think he did the same in his next race as well". I THINK that horse is a choker.

Hope you didn't take exception to what I posted, I just tell it like it is and sometimes don't think before I write. Hell, i COULDA USED SOME HELP AT PHILLY ON THOSE 2 DAYS I WROTE ABOUT.

Getting back to football... MKATZPP, HERBLITE, maybe you know what's going on with the VIRGINIA game? Did I put the wrong spread into the puter when I put in +7? I looked for news about Viginia and didn't see anything that would cause a huge move like that??

Oregon was a LOSAH - Sheet score is 0-1 SO FAR.... .. :(

I sure hope the LUCK I had covering that play sticks around here. All I had to see was those DUCKS move the ball the way they did in that 2nd quarter (1st quarter?) possession when they easily marched to THE Cardinal 4 yard line just to turnover the ball to Stanford, DANG! That was the Ducks that the puter was thinking about when it made that pick. With zero pts. at the half, I gave up hope as far as covering the game line, but not on the "Ducks score over 17 1/2 pts. for the 2nd half" prop. I got at Dimes place. You know, I almost turned off that dang TV with 10-8 minutes to go. Sure glad I didn't.

Wild Bill, the SHEET totally agrees with you and I'm on that play fosho.

G.L. eveybody.

CORRECTED Virginia line

CORRECTED Virginia line

Sorry bout bumping this thing to the top of the listing; I'd rather have other people do that. BUT I do want to make the correction to the Virginia spread and also mention something interesting I found.

Virginia's line opened at +13 NOT +7. Maybe i was half asleep when I fed it fed that no. into the Sheet. So that pick IS Virginia +13 . By the way, since the $$ liked the Cavs. at +7, I got me a Money LINER on them, think it was +445; don't remember exactly right now.

You'll never believe what I'm doing right now... i'm waiting for TwinTowers (horse betting site) to put the card up for Philly (Sat). Well, to pass time, I thought I'd do something I rarely do - just check out peoples posts on various forums. In the past, I'd go along with a capper who has a GREAT record (NOT necessarily this forum) and I'd take it instead of my trusty SS pick. DON'T DO THAT ANY MORE THOUGH!

BUT, i CAME ACROSS A POSTER that had a ton of VIEWS and he had his weekday picks posted. He pretty much covered ALL bases... team totals, O/U, sides, the works for for the Oregon and New Mex. games. I stopped after checking out about 7 of his predictions... ALL WIENERS.

You bet I searched for his SAT. game posts and his bets were all for 1 unit on each, EXCEPT for Vandy. He's got TWO units on them +10. By the way, he also liked OVER for the first half of that game.

I probably shouldn't even post this stuff but I figured that everyone who does visit this thread is looking for successful posters or spreadsheeters :).. and maybe this is good info? Also, the sheet has plenty of other picks to choose from. This thread is about assessing a computer program and it couldn't care less if we fade it, criticize it, or even curse at it.

For me? I'm already in with the Fla. pick; I'm sticking with the SHEET!

Thanks for thoughts on Gator/Vandy game and looking out for your spreadsheet stalkers! :0008

I already plan on making the Gators a medium play as soon as I get the lines from my local. As far as the record of that other capper goes? Sounds like he is due to lose a game! :mj07: I looked at that game and I figure that Vandy with +10 and being rested may make for a close game. Both teams are 4-4 and have a common strength in scheduling. Money on game looks like 50/50? Go with the Sheet is my plan!! What the hell is a half a buck, right?

Already chickened out on Cornhuskers! May switch dogs and go with Virginia as instead? Always love Wisconsin and Arizona State and will do something with them also.

My large plays are a buck and small is just a quarter. Maybe I should just grow a pair and play every S.S pick for a quarter? Or a buck? Either way- Thanks again Jimbo! Good luck to you and all u all!!

I got an idea

I got an idea

G.J. IF you see what's going on with the Fla/Vandy game, I think I better find that dude again. Yes, he also has Vandy on the M.L. Maybe you're right about Vandy's time off helped them. Maybe he knows something about the rookie Vandy QB that we don't?

Hmmm.... how about the best of BOTH worlds? That is, I'm gonna see which of his picks match the SS.

Wisc. and Ariz St. look very good to me as well. Tellya, ARK. ST. is a very strong SS pick.

I'm gonna see if I can find that "Super capper" and see what SS picks he agrees with :). I'll post what I find forya.

EDITED: OK, I found him.. . lets see....
.
.
Well, he's not totally invincible cause I see he has TWO units on Wake +21 first half.
.
.
Braska 1st half +4 ( 1 Unit)
BYU Team Total Under 23.5 -110 (1 Unit)
Utah +7 -110 (1 Unit)
Utah 1st Half +4 -110 (1 Unit)
Arizona 1st Half -.5 -110 (1 Unit) <-- n/a to us, but maybe helps somebody out.

I guess after all that, Nebraska and Wisc. gets a play. :mj03:

UT OH, and maybe Ariz. St. doesn't?

Adding a personal opinion

Adding a personal opinion

I'm stepping it up on ARK. ST. in a late game.

Also, Jason, if you're in the market for a four legged player, I like no. 6 in the last race at PARX today. Still 10 mins. to post.

I did go with Nebraska, game just started.

Wrap it up and put a magic wand on top of it

Wrap it up and put a magic wand on top of it

IMO, it doesn't really deserve it but the $$ nails another winning week. Correct me if I'm wrong (checked it twice) but I got it at 5-4 for week 11. IF we gave it a break and scored Fresno a wiener two weeks ago (they DID beat the CLOSING LINE) it's batting 1.000 for positive weeks since I started posting it's picks, week 5. NO BREAKS around here though - one losing week (by 1 game) it is.

"Doesn't derseve it?"
Look, there ain't no person or computer that can take credit for covering TEXAS and maybe even that Nebraska game and I'm sure there must be at least one more of those "semi - miracle" games. You sure as hell can give it a "-1" for that Virginia pick though.

But that ain't nuthin compared to the streak of semi miracles I experienced that past 2 days. I can not believe it and this could happen to any of us. I went large on 4 of the games, the two games above and was also lucky enough to land on Ark. ST. (really liked that one) and Wisc. fairly HUGE.

Get this - I knew my goose was cooked with the Oregon game and decided to git me a halftime play that would ensure I came out a litttle ahead after all was said and done IF it wins, got me "ORE scores over 17 1/2, second half". The Quackers didn't score a single point until about the point that the game only had about 6 mins. to go. I almost turned off the TV. You know what happened, right? Thems scored 20 pts.

Jason_Giambi, I mentioned the no. 6 horse in the last race at Philly. Now, I got something that I call "MAGIC" trifecta nos. I know, "this guy MUST be a losah with them horses". Well, those nos. are "1-3-6" boxed. They gotta come to you, you DON'T go looking for them or bet them in every race - you'll be doing all your shopping at the neighborhood Good Will store in no time doing that. I also watch the horses in the paddock and in the post parade before most races I play and the no. 1 was what I call a bit of a "L@@KER" in this 9th race. So..... . boxing 1-3-6 it is for me. OH YEAH, I luved the no. 6 so I also had that one kinda heavy (for me that is, which ain't that much) for Win/Place and also in some exactas.

What happens.. well my no. 6 hoss finishes FOURTH (no trifecta for me?). Not so fast, things like that don't happen to me, well, not this week they don't . The no. 1 was an entry (you get two horses - no. 1 and no. 1A hosses). And them's finished .....
1-3-1A-6. What that means is that I stepped in another BIG pile of poopoo again.. Trifecta, 1-3-6 paid $222 and change on a $2 dollar ticket. :scared

Just unreal the no. of almost certain losahs that turned into wieners for me these past couple of days. I should play some NFLers, but that ain't gonna happen. :nono:

Hope to see yas for Week 12 (gonna be some big time matchups and I'll be stuffing the puter with data getting ready for it).

Very happy for you Jimbo! You seem like a good dude and deserving of good luck for all you do for this site.

Unfortunately, I am picking all the losers from the sheet and none of the winners. My 3 game plan has not worked the last 2 weeks and am now 0-6! I almost added the Ark.St game when I saw that the NBA kid also posted about the reverse line move with public on favorite! I pussed out and stuck to my dumb plan though of being disciplined! Also did not want to jinx all u all as I am not feeling it right now!

I am just small peanuts though, so no big deal and I am confident that next week will be better! At least it can not get any worse, and I do need to remember that I am still playing with house money.

I usually take my wife and daughters out for a nice dinner after having a solid gambling week. Looks like we will be heading south of the border again this week to "Taco Bell"!! :mj07:

Go Niners!! I may chase just a tad in the NFL today? I know, I know- should never chase with the big boys- but I really love San Fran to slow down Superman Cam after San Fran has basically had 2 weeks off with Jax/+ bye week.

Thanks and G.L to all!!:slomo
