st louis over 109-: not quite sure why this game would be both teams lowest lined total of the year. slu is commited to a much more uptempo style of play this year, and it has shown in every game they've played this year except for a 33 point slump at college station, where they were the victims of a typical big 12 mugging. granted, the salukis are a good defensive, but they are just back from a ten day road trip, and didn't return to carbondale until thursday evening because of mechanical problems with their plane in rushton. circumstances seem to point to a game in the 60's.

After seeing SIU play a game or two, I noticed that they remind me of Texas A&M this year. They play some lockdown defense and have a solid halfcourt offense.

A&M rolled St. L by 36.Holding STL to 33 points for the game.
I look for a similar result today. All other STL games were garbage teams. Penders boys dont have an ounce of defense in them so I would throw out that 81 point game by STL.

GOOD LUCK
MY PLAY SO. ILL(-8) HUGE

No play on the total. Afraid STL doesnt break 40.
WOW THAT WAS CLOSE.
I WILL TAKE IT.

while i'didn't see the a&m game, everything i have read suggests to me that it was a typical big 12 home game vs a nonconference foe where the home officials basicly swallow their whistles and transform basketball into greco-roman wrestling. if a rebuilding murray st broke forty in carbondale, i have to believe that soderberg's billikens will also. i think you underrate the fact that the salukis have been home about 36 hours after a 10 day road trip. that's got to affect their defensive intensity today. i actually lean a bit to the dog, although there's no chance i would bet into that 68-3 home streak siu has going.

Penders is not a Billiken. He is a Houston Cougar who STL beat 81-78 last week.

The road trip may affect SIU,but I dont think this STL is very good. Just a weak schedule.
A&M does play somewhat phsyical, but they were missing their PF(Pompey-the bruiser). Physical ball did not due STL in. 11-53(.208%) did them in.
Like I said.I see the same outcome today.

sorry about the penders brain slip, obviously meant soderberg. i edited the correction in above.

i think physical play probably had something to with that shooting %.

can't say you're wrong. g/l with the play today.

don't want to start mltiple threads, so adding another play here:

william and mary -4-: worst four teams in a tournament i've seen in awhile, but going with the host tem in this spot. cornell is coming off a track meet with vmi yesterday, where they came back from thirteen down to post a 99-94 win. keydets don't play a breath of d but cornell faces a much tougher tribe defense today. some key big red players logged considerable minutes last night and tonight will have to work much harder tonight for shots. w&m also the superior rebounding team and this edge should be magnified by the back to back situation. tribe is much better equipped to play two in a row as they routinely rotate 10 or more to maintain defensive intensity. being at home doesn't hurt either.

doesn't it seem that when you're riding a streak the bounces just seem to go your way? like the wise old gambler said, it's always better to be lucky than good.
