Is their coach on the take? I think he's mad because the game is over and he wants to call in one more running play.

Lol. Good stuff.

Horrible coaching tonight. Kicking that FG was the wrong move

There is a simple explanation that will get chuckles from most here but a few will get it...to say the head coach is terrible if u watched them all year is just plain silly. Quite frankly Stanford was never going to win that game by more than a field goal. Let's just say his "hands were tied " by a greater objective...again not interested in debating this as I know most here don't believe in fixes...however, like it or not, u just witnessed one :SIB

Sure did look like it. Extremely questionable play calling.

Correct. I saw them multiple times this year and they were never so predictable and focused on nonproductive running plays.

Yes that was ridiculous!! At one point they ran about 5 straight running plays averaging about 0 yards a carry! Seemed like 75% of their plays were the same play.

Yep. No point in it. You need to win the game not get closer. By doing that they just put the clock against them. Need all the chances you can get at that point in time in the game.

Respectfully disagree with the FG being wrong move and the thought stanford is a disgrace.

The FG was made with over 4 minutes left to make it 24-20, should Mich St get a FG, it's 27-20 and your one score down. If you don't get any pts, mich st. can seal it with a FG, to go up two scores.
They initially tried a fake FG and got penalized, making it 4th and 10.

In hindsight, if Stan. were stopped with no FG and Mich st. made a FG you would be bitching about how they were down two scores, 27-17.
No?

They simply did not play a very good game, dropsies and penalties make the diff in close games.

No. If MSU drives down and gets a FG, there is about a 90% chance there is under a minute left (if any) and you are toast anyhow. You are in a 4th and short in a great spot - you have to go for it there because the bottom line is that you need a stop and a TD regardless of that FG. They ended up having to go for it on 4th anyhow (always happens). Point is you are going to need to make a play to win at some point anyhow. That was a good spot to do it, and a fail puts you in fine position to still get your stop and TD that you need anyway. Barnwell's head would be exploding about now.

I don't think they are a disgrace. They just played a horrible football game and Shaw coached a horrible game

ok ,that's cool, usually two sides to every story.
we can all agree stan. played poorly but some credit goes to state.

Mich St flat out shut down their run game and took them out of their game plan. Mich St just made more plays @ the line of scrimage than Stanford. Stanford is a good team and that was a really good football game.
