^^ big deal ^^

Last night I was out walking the dog and it was minus 24 Celsius (-11 Fahrenheit) and 3 days ago I was walking the dog and it was minus 29 Celsius (-20 Fahrenheit).

And don't worry Madjackers...the doggy always has a jacket on, he stays warm.

I'm sure a lot of people have it worse than here. I feel fortunate. They are calling for up to 12" of snow and I bet we don't get more than 3" The hype over this storm is ridiculous! And, I feel fortunate that I don't have to go anywhere. I feel for the people that have to deal with the airlines.

Cold is one thing (I hate the cold)......but when you get a ton of snow that is when it gets really annoying, especially when you have to remove snow from driveway/sidewalk/etc (man I hate hate hate that).

As for "over-reaction" it really comes down to how you grew up. I have had to endure temperatures as low as minus -55 Celsius (-67 Fahrenheit) and have had to deal with snow that was as tall as Manute Bol. I have seen snow storms that are really really bad when I was up by the Arctic Circle (wind and snow that will rip your skin off your face). So when I hear the word "big storm" it is all in perspective. Yep, just goes down to how you grew up and what you are used to.

For fucks sake some people freak the fuck out if a tiny bit of snow and ice hits the ground, they think it is Armageddon🤦‍♀️

But hey, with all that said, cold can kill you fast, most people don't realize how quick it can take you out. By the time you realize you are in trouble, it is too late, you are dead.

It was -2° when I got the paper this morning. I was thinking about how crazy it was to play football in those temps.

Now the sun is out and it's all the way up to 6°. And the GF, who A) is allergic to cold (so she claims) and B) thinks it's insane to eat ice cream in the winter, now wants to drive half an hour to an ice cream place because they're having a "Stuff Your Stanley" promotion. 4 scoops for $10. Women.

this is so insanely cold that it's hard to understand without personal experience. everything is ice, metal, plastics, everything. you touch your bare hand this cold metal and your hand freezes on it.

-20°- -30°C is ok to be outside, but after -35°C it's actually freezing even without wind.

stay safe 🥶

nice view Nuts, we have about same amount of snow here in Finland :smilies8

Seriously. I mean, I don't even know what their regular price for 4 scoops is. It might not even have been a discount. It's just advertised as if it is.

So we drove 30 minutes, stood in line for 45 minutes (inside, fortunately), ate some ice cream, then drove home.

And we're probably going back in 2 weeks, because they've been doing Ice Cream for Breakfast on the first Saturday in February for a few years now.

Back on topic... the snow started falling here a few hours ago.
