Coaches on the field is an automatic 15 yards penalty. This is the NFL, guys are injured every quarter.

He did his job though and riled Jones up to get another 15 yards. it should have been off setting though. there will be more to this one for the refs crew, no chance they get any more games after the entire game was a shit show.
I thought the refs did as good as anyone could have without having to strap guys to the electric chair

The coaching staffs have to take accountability and are in charge of setting the tone for their players regarding the type of standard they are going to be held to.....they have to make the athletes understand their representation of the uniform, franchise, and the city they play for... but more than anything, the players have a responsibility as role models and as EMPLOYEES of the NFL to always, if nothing else, protect the shield and ensure the league is represented with honor and class.....they are grown men acting like wild animals....only they are infant wild animals...like a lion cub, they love the taste of blood and they love the hunt, but when it's time to attack they fuckin overreact and fuck up the stalk

The refs are just that, officials paid to learn and enforce the rules of the game.......they aren't babysitters...they almost always maintain order and structure on Sundays , but instances like this, it is up to coaching staffs and other players to police their rabid teammates and restore the order....I mean how can refs stop it when it's literally a different player or players after every single whistle? And the fans? Classless throwing debris and booing guys when they are injured, but that only reinforces the negative behaviors exhibited by the bafoons on the field and throws more gas on the fire....

Blaming the refs for the actions of grown men is weak to me at best and it will only breed more of the same....these guys have the maturity of a 7 year old and the ego of a movie star....they are already enabled human beings, and if we now allow them to elude blame at the expense of the referees who are in last night's game, the only ones trying to maintain civility, it only enables them further.

The league, the players union, and players reps need to seriously address guys like burfict and get it under control....children watch these guys and they are paid A LOT of money to play football and with that comes the expectations that they will not embarrass the league by doing what we saw last night among other things.....

Sorry for the rant....
but these guys are already entitled, and in most cases enabled by the people around them, simply because people want something from them i.e money, talent, sex, power....I'm so tired of watching people get paid so much to play a fucking game, and act like children because they can get away with it

Suspend burfict for 6 games....I'll bet he maintains composure better the next time they travel northeast to take on the steelers....there are so many people responsible for what we saw last night in Cincinnati, but any individual we saw wearing black and white stripes, is not one of them

Sorry I'm done

Burfict is an animal. If there was a 50 yard penalty then what he did would deserve it and he should have been kicked out of the game. I'd also release him if I owned the team and make a statement. It seems he can't be controlled so cut him loose.

However the second penalty was instigated by the Steelers mouthy coach getting into the Bengals huddle and yapping off. This is exactly what the refs need to control and penalise. Porter starts the fight, Jones falls for the bait and boom... 15 more yards. That is poor control from the zebras.

Article I, section 8: Non-player personnel of a club (e.g., management personnel, coaches, trainers, equipment men) are prohibited from making unnecessary physical contact with or directing abusive, threatening, or insulting language or gestures at opponents, game officials, or representatives of the League. The penalty: 15 yards.

Rule 13.1.2: Either or both team attendants and their helpers may enter the field to attend their team during a team timeout by either team. No other non-player may come on the field without the Referee's permission, unless he is an incoming substitute (5-2-2).

During any team timeout, all playing rules continue in force. Representatives of either team are prohibited from entering the field unless they are incoming substitutes, or team attendants or trainers entering to provide for the welfare of a player, and any game-type activities are prohibited on the Field of Play.

Take your pick of which rule he broke. He's got a fine coming too, not like they give a shit now. i don't mind not calling a penalty on him but you can't then call one on the Bengals. That is horse shit. If Pacman wasn't such a moron then in theory it was have negated the Burfict foul and the Bengals most likely win.

Do you know if the ref gave Porter permission to be on field? Do you know what was said? No and no. Did Porter touch a ref? No. How can you assume he should be fined when you weren't there? Many unknown facts and they all get forgotten when you touch a referee.

Eh... the league is going to fine him so that's not my decision or up for debate.

Plus it's Joey Porter ffs. I think it's fair to say he wasn't out there to say a few Hail Marys.

Haha yeah but the Pacman Jones aura of thuggery trumps anything Porter could have done.
