Let's see if PIT can make this stop. If they do they deserve a lot of credit for winning these last 2 games.

Oops. Bad move there, Tomlin.

brees(like a dunce)trying for big plays instead of just nickel and dining and eating clock.....

idiot...

Exactly. You don't want to score that fast anyway.

Now what's the play on 4th and 2?

I was thinking the Steelers should have let them score anyway. Ben has time to get the FG for sure.

pass interference of course!

I said yesterday that the second worst in game coach in the league is in the same division and he is proving me right? The fake punt was moronic at best.

I just wrote in my thread that I am more concerned about next week than any possible playoff game (I like SD at home and then KC on the road!)

always respected Tomlin and the success of his teams....but I truly think he's coached in multiple spots this year with his Head planted firmly in his Ass....

Just don't understand it...gotta punt the ball there .....no???

You are being kind. The guy is a fucking moron. Of course you punt. Why would you ever take the chance of giving Brees a short field.

I can not come up with a scenario where Tomlin's decision to fake the punt is a good call. I know it is easy to say so after the fact, but given the situation and what is at stake it is simple a horrible decision. It is not like your defense was playing bad at all. Half of NO scores were aided by penalties and one was an outright gift. What kind of message are you sending to your defense with that call? I can hear him justifying it already, but it could be a sure fire case of a Coach costing his team a playoff spot. If Harbaugh had done that I would be outside in the cold walking it off. Of course if the Ravens do not beat Cleveland next week I will be calling for Harbaugh's head.

Merry Christmas!!

It was 100% the right call. Kicking it away there just takes N.O. longer to score and more time off the clock. If you make it on 4th down there maybe you get a FG and go up by 7, if you miss it like they did you leave more time on the clock when Brees inevitably scores.

Going into a game like that if you tell the Steelers we will give you the ball down by 3 with 1:30 left I guarantee you they take the offer. With 1:30 left they were in as good a spot as they could have hoped for, they just fumbled it away.

I would go so far as to say NOT faking it there (or at least going for it on 4th down) would have been a criminal mistake.
