Thinking over for me but have enough rooting action to just lay off.

Statistically it looks like a Steelers blowout but you know how that usually works out.

Post your thoughts.

I can't see the Steelers laying another turd like they did last week.

Tough game to pick in my opinion. 87% to 90% bets on Steelers and I can see why, Titans are 2-7 ats and their season is toast.

MNF - Steelers @ Titans - Come On In

MNF - Steelers @ Titans - Come On In

Explain to me how the 2-7 Titans @ home opened as +5 dogs and dropped to +4.5 before moving to the inevitable higher number of +6.5 and +7.

Why didn't the Steelers open -6.5 or -7.

The money on the Steelers sits in the 80-90%.

What do you think ? :toast:

Books cheering for underdog Titans in Monday Night Football

Books cheering for underdog Titans in Monday Night Football

Tonight?s Monday Night Football matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tennessee Titans is causing some serious anxiety for oddsmakers.

On one sideline you have the Steelers, who are coming off a tough loss against the Jets. They lit up the scoreboard for three straight weeks before that. On the other sideline you have the Tennessee Titans, who have lost seven of their last eight outright and haven?t scored more than 17 points in a game since Week 5.

That adds up to oddsmakers cheering for the underdog Titans in a big way.

?We opened with Pittsburgh -5 and early sharp action came in on the Steelers causing us to move to 5.5 and then to 6,? Sports Interaction oddsmaker Greg Sindall said. ?The public has also been backing the Steelers heavily which forced us to move out to -6.5. Currently, 91 percent of the handle is on Pittsburgh and if this trend keeps up, we could be on 7 at kick off.?

In a standalone game like this, oddsmakers are forced to actively manage their odds right up until kickoff. Before 1 p.m. E.T., Sports Interaction moved the line to Pittsburgh -7 -105.

?The Steelers are always a bit of a public team,? Sindall said. ?They are one of the classic teams that will always attract action because they have a massive fan base that extends far beyond local fans. A game like this is almost impossible to balance. We have a popular team like the Steelers, and Roethlisberger has had a couple huge games this season, playing against a weak opponent in the Titans. All of that adds up to one-sided action on the Steelers.?

The Steelers support in tonight?s game isn?t coming as a surprise. Sindall also said the book has seen heavy action on the Steelers to win the AFC North over the last couple of weeks. Cincinnati still has the majority of the book?s handle to win the division, but most of those bets came from preseason wagers. Since then it?s been all Pittsburgh.

Quite interesting...

Quite interesting...

It's hard for me to go against the Titans here but when I find a trend that has a coach who has mastery over rookie QB's (applies to the titans in this game), it makes me very wary.

And here it is.

Steelers are the best in the league vs. Rookie QB's since 2004.

Dick Lebeau became the Steelers D coordinator in 2004.

What has he done agaisnt rookie QB's?

16-2 Straight Up (.889)

The two QB's that beat him?

Troy Smith of the Ravens in 2007. BUT that was a week 17 game where the Steelers were resting starters.

Brandon Weeden in 2012 BUT Big Ben was injured and Charlie Batch started.

So you can even call the 2 losses into question.

How have the rookie QB's faded in those 18 games?

61 sacks in 18 games (3.4 pg)
167 yards per game passing
20 INT's
12 TD's

"the bunker"
I`m not going to try and justify anyone putting their hard earned money on Tennessee....but,just last week I watched the titans saunter into Baltimore and proceed to march 79 yards in 15 plays only to fumble it away inside our 5 yd line...on their second drive, the marched 59 yards and stuck it in the endzone.....

the crowd must have sensed the danger because they finally got going and helped goose the ravens`defense...but,god only knows what might have happened had they scored 7 on that first drive....

they looked pretty good to me..we only scored 21 at home(and we`re very strong at home)..

mettenberger, imo, has a future in the league.....

the steelers, like the ravens, have shown they can struggle on the road...still,my gut is that the jet debacle will serve as a wake-up call...but who knows?.....

pass....

btw...isn`t the steeler defense sans polamalu/Ike taylor and shazier?

Some interesting notes about tonight's game.
Titan head coach Ken Whisenhunt a former quarterback coach and offensive coordinator for the Steelers and Big Ben.
Titan defensive coordinator Ray Horton played and coached under current Steeler defensive coordinator Dick Lebeau.
Ray Horton Steeler assistant defensive backs coach 2004-2006. Ray Horton 2007-2010 Steeler defensive backs coach
Steeler offensive line coach Mike Munchak former Titan Head coach
The following Steeler defensive starters are out for tonights game: nose guard Steve McClendon being replaced by a rookie
Safety Troy Polamalo
inside linebacker Ryan Shazier
corner back Ike Taylor
Safety Shamarko Thomas
outside linebacker Jarvis Jones is on IR designated to return
My conclusion as a soon to be 49 year old life long Steeler fan is play the Over. Titans know what we do on defense and we are banged up. Titans will want to play well Monday night football and Whisenhunt might have some trick plays, Just think Titans let it all hang out tonight. Ben wants to make up for last weeks poor performance and the Titans will have trouble stopping the Steelers as well.
