Yet another study has been released proving that watching Fox News is detrimental to your intelligence. World Public Opinion, a project managed by the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland, conducted a survey of American voters that shows that Fox News viewers are significantly more misinformed than consumers of news from other sources. What?s more, the study shows that greater exposure to Fox News increases misinformation.

So the more you watch, the less you know. Or to be precise, the more you think you know that is actually false. This study corroborates a previous PIPA study that focused on the Iraq war with similar results. And there was an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll that demonstrated the break with reality on the part of Fox viewers with regard to health care. The body of evidence that Fox News is nothing but a propaganda machine dedicated to lies is growing by the day. continued with statistics>>

Didn't you see this morning's job report?

WASHINGTON - The number of people applying for unemployment benefits fell to its lowest point in nearly two and a half years, a sign that the job market is slowly improving.

Applications dropped by 34,000 to 388,000, the fewest since July 2008, the Labor Department said Thursday. The number of applications has either fallen or remained unchanged in five of the past six weeks.

MSNBC has the lowest ratings of any news source....they are the worst news soruce in the major media. Palin gets beat in a landslide by Obama? Where in the hell did you read Palin is running on the Rep Ticket? She is NOT. WHY? Because she is unelectable IMO. I think your reading way too much into Palin running....Again , it wont happen IMO and if she does Obama will be Pres for 4 more yrs. It also has been rumored that Jed Bush may run....again unelectable...Obama will be Pres for 4 more yrs if that happens. I know we r talking media so I'm sorry about this Palin and Bush crap.

I would hope/expect the the massive job losses incurred-- after the trillion dollar stimulus passed behind closed doors (1/3 entitlements) to assure unemployment would remain below 8%--would taper off.

--bottom line- apps dropped 34,000 while unemployment rose to 9.8 last month* -doesn't get me too excited. Most company profits are due to overseas--and that is where their jobs are headed--and when feds can no longer hold interest rates to 0--then what? I hope for the best but will remain in very defensive posture--and prefer to speculate in countries where debt is not approaching gdp.

* The unemployment rate edged up to 9.8 percent in November, and nonfarm payroll ... Labor Force Statistics including the National Unemployment Rate ...

Ratings aren't what we're talking about. It's about which one misinforms the most, and that is Fox News. This study has been done before with the same network finishing #1.

Wayne: I hardly ever watch news shows any more, but I have had my fill over the years with these networks. I've seen Olbermann, and I think he is the Left's answer to the entire Fox Network, but he is just one man. While he is clearly promoting a Liberal Agenda and anti-Republican, is he mis-informing? If he is, it isn't enough to take away the top spot from Fox News, which continues to tke the top spot as the national leader in misinformation.

I assume this poll was brought to us by the same people who think more taxes and more gov tit is good or while 98% of blacks voted for Gumby its the whites that didn't vote for Gumby that are the racist or liberal media telling you how much smarter they are --and then kurby off when you define their voting base.
Thanks for sharing your political philosophy with us once again Dogs. Because we didn't get it the other 8000 times you've posted this same tripe.

Btw... Happy New Year, Dogs... :0008

I understand Garry--I think we agree that Fox has conservative base and most the rest lean the opposite--so our fav naturally lean in direction of our values--doesn't make any "the" network for all.

Was stuck in airport an forced to watch same news reel over and over of lady on CNN explaining how they voted to extend "Bushes" tax cuts for the rich---like they were the only rates he cut and the only ones extended. :nooo:

--and CNN wonders why their ratings decined 34% from 2009.

Dogs use to post the "Political Grapevine" which was a summation of all the false propaganda that Faux News puts forth! If 98% of the blacks voted for Obama, did 98% of the toothless undereducated whites vote for the flip flopper McCain?

A: All you have to do is point out errors--
B: Be able to read voting demographics

Evidently you can do neither.

Only thing that is apparent is your identifying with Obama and his values--has that Rev Wright ring to it.

I can identify with Mac--you with Obama
I believe our lives have indicated that.

To each their own!

Maybe I was wrong--gave CBS a glance and got answer to all our probs from their anchor :SIB

Comic Relief?
Katie Couric is reflecting on the controversy around the proposed Islamic mosque near Ground Zero and thinks a new TV sitcom could make it all right.
The CBS anchor said -- quote -- "the bigotry expressed against Muslims in this country has been one of the most disturbing stories to surface this year." Her remedy? "Maybe we need a Muslim version of 'The Cosby Show'.... I know that sounds crazy, but 'The Cosby Show' did so much to change attitudes about African-Americans in this country."
