Down to 25 this week. Yes, Pittsburgh is in shambles, without Polamalu this defense stinks. Oakland was only averaging something like 9 points per game and QB had career highs against them. They are just not hungry this year, or very good. So, tough to back them in any spot, especially when this will be Cleveland's SB, win here and they probably knock off their hated rival from any playoff contention.

For me, and most likely the remain 25 I assume most of us will use Tennessee this week. Small look at Houston, but scary with Schaub a little dinged up.

This is who I've used thus far:

NO WAS BAL SF NYG JAC IND SD

I've mapped out the year w/spread estimates:

Wk. 9 NE -10.5 (Mia)
Wk. 10 Min -14.5 (Det)
Wk. 11 Dal -11 (Was)
Wk. 12 Atl -13 (TB)
Wk. 13 Cin -11 (Det)
Wk. 14 Pit -9.5 (@Cle)
Wk. 15 Den -14 (Oak)
Wk. 16 AZ -12.5 (St.L)
Wk. 17 Chi -9 (@ Det)

The week 8 plan is still in place. 24 left out of 120. Pitt killed 6 people. I know the smart play this week is Tenn., but I know everyone left still has Tenn available and will probably take Tenn. - only a few have not used Pitt. This may be the week that the ultimate ball buster happens and the Rams shock the deflated Titans. I think TN realizes their playoff hopes are gone 9-7 isn't going to do it. If Polamalu plays, Pit is a no brainer for me. I will probably roll dice w/Pit, stick w/the plan, and hope Titans lay a turd. It COULD happen.

Brian,

Does it end at the regular season if say there are 15 people left, split among all the people or is there a tiebreaker or does it move into the playoffs?

The way it was done last year with 6 staying alive the whole way through, SPLIT. No tiebreaker, and it is set that way. Although, I would be open to suggestions, but most appear to want some money for a measly $20 investment. There are 25 remaining, so let's see what happens. The last few weeks will be interesting.

Thank God I went with Cincy this week to "save" Pitt for week 14 but after watching that performance i'm very confused at the makeup of that team. And Cleveland played SD fairly tough.

So that brings us to week 14.

I think the obvious picks are Pitt or Tenn. I'm leaning Tenn as they are playing very well and St Louis is beign led by Kyle Boller.

We are down to 5 (including myself) in my pool w/ 1 biting the dust to Pitt this weekend...:00hour

Have you thought about contacting the other 4 dudes and see if they want to split the pot and call it a day?

I don't know how big your pool pot is and what other teams the other 4 players still have at their disposal but this sounds like a reasonable idea to me. A lil something something for X-mas shopping is always handy.

Outside of Pitt and Tenny this week, I am surprised nobody mentioned Baltimore (if they are still available). The Ravens is still fighting for a playoff spot and the Lions is simply rotten on the road.

Everyone in the world probably still has Tennessee left. I know everyone in my pool does. I'm taking NE and hoping they all take Tennesse, and rooting like hell for the Rams.

I went with Houston because I knew Titans were going to be a popular pick.

I'm still alive,,,
I was thinking of saving Denver for week 17...

I'm thinking
Week 15... Arizona @ Detroit (ARZ must win)
Week 16 49ers @ home vs Detroit
Week 17 Denver@ home vs Kc

I'm thinking ARZ will have the division wrapped up after week 15 so use them now,,,(Philli will probably beat the 49ers)

49ers at home are a different team,,,Singletary will want this win bad at home to close the season with this win,and a win against St louis the following week

Week 17,,,Denver at home,, in a must win,,,

Other possibility was
Week 15 Houston @ St louis
Week 16 ARZ @ home vs St louis
Week 17 Denver @ home vs KC

Any thoughts?

sf v det (or az or atl v buff)
den v kc; this is the only play I see for week 17

Zona for this week as well. They should rebound and Detroit D is nowhere near the level of the 49ers.

Week 16 should be a bit easier with Green Bay and San Fran. Week 17 = Denver.

wow....glad I switched out the Broncos for Cardinals, although that one was too close for comfort.

GB looks like my no-brainer pick for this weekend.

Well of the 5 left in my pool 2 had Houston and snuck out a win, I was the only one w/ AZ and was lucky there as well...we lost 2 more w/ Denver

So only 3 left but our prize pool is only 800 bucks but its better than nothing.

Week 16: leaning SF...only other possibility would be Atlanta at home vs Buff

Week 17: Denver

thoughts on SF vs Atlanta for week 16? I already used GB

I'm out:sadwave:

Last year I lost in week 10 because I got drunk on a Saturday night and called in a play on a team (Ravens) that I had already used.

So, this was my first real loss in 25 weeks:(

Denver knocked half the field out in my pool. Seven of us left. I stayed alive with Arizona. This one ends when regular season ends. I am predicting a seven-way tie.

Week 16 obvious picks:

NO over Tampa
Cincy over KC
GB over Seattle
Zona over St. Louis
SF over Detroit

I'd feel confident picking any of those. I still have Saints so I'll be going with them this week. Only one of the seven remaining in my pool has to go outside this group.

Note: Indy would whip NYJ under normal circumstances, but who knows how much their regulars will play.

Week 17 obvious picks:

SD over Wash
Denver over KC
SF over St. Louis

Like all three of these, but there's a caveat for each one. SD has the No. 2 playoff spot locked in so who knows who will be playing for them next week. We saw what just happened to Denver. And SF isn't a real good team so you're really bettign against St. Louis. That's been pretty good strategy so far this year, but still scary to back a lousy team on the road. Denver will be my pick because they will most likely be playing for a playoff spot while KC will be playing out the string. Everyone in my pool has one of these three teams left.

My pool is worth $3600. I feel I have a great chance to go through perfect, and I'm gonna wind up splitting. :(
