yep jack, sunset could send me a plane ticket and i would still pass. funny thing is i got a love letter from bouncin' bob defroda just yesterday - you know, the love/love, kiss/kiss, when you coming back letter. i resisted the urge to give him a call and ruin his day, and instead just dropped it in the circular file.

the caribbean would be nice in january, though that would put the travel onus on the west coast folks (but hey, i've made three vegas trips from the back woods of the east coast). there are some decent places in the bahamas that are fairly easy to get to who would probably make a sweet deal for a hundred people.

new orlean would be my next choice.

Tunica, MS or Gulfport, MS

Tunica has around 10-15 casinos, plus it is only 20 minutes from Memphis airport. Theey have all of the big name casinos, plenty of restaurants and golf, and is just a short ride to Memphis,

Gulfport has around 10 more casinos, is on the beach, lots of golf places to eat, and the nicest casino in the south, Beau Rivage

Don't panic I am working hard I will pull this off at a good cost, ar as mcu as you and i hate sunset it is far from a dump, and you will never get a set up like we did or a bigger sports book, it is clean right down the road from lanny and me in the higer part of vegas for living, Yes i was pissed but the party it self was unreal the last 2 years sorry you feeel it is a dump. It is safe and clean and in the best part of clark county you can live in green vally or summerlin, i think you were very harsh and that made me feel bad, it is far from a dump.

I bust my ass for this but they have been rated #1 5 years in a row for local casinos and the places to eat were far from trash and lanny will back me on that , just new ownership f..ked us over and was for a reason, not to have us tie up that room, but far from a dump and i think i know out here, nothing was dirty and like i said what ever i set up you will not have a set up like that.

they took care of food and drinks better then you will see where ever i get. yes treated wrong but far from dirty and a dump. sorry you are out of line on that. and with jerri being convention and catering manger at the alladin i think i know , and i have seen the rooms and suites and they are spotless and so is the floor and places to eat not the feast food places . sorry you feel that way. but you are wrong yes many problems but i am on the inside looking out and you are outside looking in, people caused the problem (staff) not the casino itself far from a dump.

You want a dump i can show you many, they make more then most strip places stations casinons and sunset is there number 1 and green valley ranch is #2 so something is scued in your eye sight.

fletcher,

please accept my apologies about sunset.

i was definitely too harsh in calling it a dump.

i used that word because i couldn't come up with a different word at the time.

when i see a group of people, like us spending money like we did & the hotel not appreciating it, i was turned off.

i don't like cheapness & definitely thought they were being cheap to us.

i was more annoyed with this guy bob for not honoring the free drinks coupons & then lying to my face than i was about the hotel on the whole.

fletcher, i understand & appreciate the hard work you are doing trying to put things together for the superbowl.

i did something similar to this for a social group for a year & found it very frustrating.

again please accept my apology & please let me know if you need any help.

i will be more than happy to help you in any way that you need.

fletch, the negative comments have nothing to do with you or the party or the job you did getting the party ready and running smoothly. the party was great!

i will never have anything to do with sunset station ever again BECAUSE OF THAT DICKHEAD BOB. and you can tell sunset management that there are 100's of people that won't go there now BECAUSE OF THAT DICKHEAD BOB.

i'm just thinking ahead for a possible new location because of what you told me over the phone and what you posted here on the forum. time is running out.

thanks man

i have never attended one of these parties with you guys and i do not know what you are accustomed to. however, tunica does have some really nice spots. binion's horseshoe & goldstrike are next to each other and have some sweet partying rooms with your own bartenders - what it would cost during the super bowl i do not know. but i would be happy to check for the forum. teh co i work for, hilti, had a nice regional meeting there a month ago. the grand casino is the biggest in tunica with the most property and sq footage of gaming. it is about to build an indoor/outdoor waterpark on its grounds. whether it would be open by dec i do not know.

the only downside to tunica is that there is no sportsbook to wager at. :cursin:

positive is that they are never stingy with the booze. that keeps us rednecks comin' back. :)

jack,

i spoke to my friend last night & he told me that the only hotel that his company owns that has a casino, (no book) is in puerto rico.

since the super bowl is during their prime season they would not be able to offer anything to the group.

I liked the Sunset very much, and agree that the neighbor hood is so nice, would love to move to Henderson. They have always treated us good. I will miss going there this time. I had heard it was going to be at the Orleans by the strip. Oh well, I think it should remain in Nevada. Good weather, gambling, good airport and people who smoke can still smoke. Next choice Tahoe, beautiful, but may be cold. Next place is Laughton in southern Nev. (Like Vegas used to be, cheap prices everywhere) Lots of great hotels and casinos. Colorado River runs right by the casinos, you can watch the river from almost any hotel, Lots of water sports and boats etc for rent. Anyway Fletcher, we will be happy with what ever you come up with, you are appreciated very much.

South Florida is always sunny and they have just recently opened up a couple casinos in north miami. Plane tickets are not to expensive and there are hotels and resorts up the whole coast. just an idea but how can you beat south florida. you can stay anywhere from palm beach south to miami.

On the plus side for Tunica, for some, is the World Poker Open held there in January, a huge poker tournament. Might make it tight on rooms and party centers tho.
