It was obvious that Big Ben was nervous as he just did not play the kind of game that I expected from him. He did not zing his passes in and throw for TDs like I think he is capable of. I will remember how the Super Bowl affects young QBs in my future wagers. What he did do is win the game and cover. What more can anyone ask of him.
....................................................

This was from my thread for last years game.

Lets see ....young QB .... Superbowl....

who most likely will have the poor game ?

Bingo !

I have spent the last week looking at stats and the rest until I am blue in the face.

What it comes down to is Colts will find someway to pull this out. They should have lost to Baltimore if a top defense would stop them. They did not.

Game may be close as field position for the Bears could start at 50 again for most of game. Running backs for Bears will get their yards. But that is not where this kind of game has to be won.
If you can't pass the ball in crunch time, no way you win this Superbowl.

If Chicago had a better QB ( Brady)I would be
all over Chicago.

BEARS MONEY -----------------------------------------------

Just saw from another site that 85% of the money is on the BEARS right now yet the line hasn't moved. Something doesn't seem right. Any thoughts? / RockVegas.
.............................................................

Yeh I have a thought. Public money in early.

Colts pull out a six pack of whip ass.:sadwave:

Hey Scott, I dont always agree with you but if 75% of folks are betting on Chicago, I think you are on the right side of this game. Why not take the money you will win with the ML bet and let it ride on another play?

I dont think you can use last years "superbowl" as a rule because Ben Worthlessberger had the worst stats ever for a winning Superbowl QB and
he showed this year that he really is pretty bad. Grossman isnt as green or bad as Ben. Seatle outplayed the steelers last year but couldnt beat that 12th man in stripes.

Best Of Luck

you my friend have got to be the dumbest on this site. Big Ben lost one or two games in his rookie year of 2004, IN THE NFL, and lost to a very good Patriots team, IN THE AFC CHAMPIONSHIP. Captured Rookie of the year by the way, then he helps, doesn't hurt, the team of 2005 and wins the Super Bowl! Granted, a few calls were a bit scetchy but hell, when have we seen a game that didn't have scetchy calls!?

Scott-The Chicago O line and running game will have a lot of success in this game, taking pressure off Grossman, also keeping Manning on the sideline. They will run for at least 180 yds,if not more and be the storyline of the game.Grossman can pass at will if they are having trouble stopping the Bears running attack. There will be a world more pressure on Payton Manning playing against the Bears defense as they will likely be behind early.Given the label of "not winning the big one" Manning has had to fight his whole carreer, the world stage of the superbowl, being ballcontrolled by the other side,he is not human if he doesn't start worrying, getting itchy, maybe anxious, and it seeps into his play at least a little, maybe a lot.Certainly this is a hypothetical, not a definate scenario, but how unlikely does it sound?I am not trying to zing your pick, only suggesting maybe a closer look at the other side before risking the big bucks ml on the fav in this game. Most infrequent (public)players who only bet one game a year, the Superbowl, will blindly want to back Manning. You are not one of those.GL whatever you play.

Intense Operator-Lets hope they can't outdo the Purple People Eating Vikings vs the Dolphins whatever year that was for stinking against the run.Csonka could not be stopped, plus they usually didn't even touch him until he was about 7 yds downfield most times.Miami only threw 12 or 14 times that game.It was sick it was soooo easy. But we certainly agree its going to be the key to the outcome of this game...the Bears will dominate by running the ball.GL

8.5 out of ten people betting on the Bears? Hmmm.......

i don't know where you saw that but a site that i use to monitor this type of info (not a sports book) has...

53% of a little over 55,000 bets are on indy.

CHI 58%

This is what I am showing. I was just copying RockVegas' post. No way I believe that 85% of the bets are coming in on the bears, and I have to believe that the late action will swing towards the Colts.

........................................................

I thought about this alot before I made this play. Money is down by the way.

The one thing I revert back to is a game two years ago with Colts vs Jack Jags on a Monday night. In that game, Peyton Manning made some of the most unbelieveable passes I have ever seen in a football game. He moved the team down the field and was like a machine. Manning won the game with a final throw into the end zone between two defenders, placing the ball in the only place it could be for a touchdown. There was 15 seconds left in the game.

Can you say the same about Grossman my friend. I didnt think so. When Grossman is needed most, Lovie will be wondering if he should put Griese in.

Big games have not bothered Manning in his past.
I may end up taking a chunk on the -7 also.

Good luck either way.

If its the Bears that get behind they are screwed.

Yeh lets take a running team to win the Super Bowl. I doubt it.

Dungy should have a game plan to stop the run first.

He's a phenomenal talent, and his intelligence is why I'd want him leading my team into this game. He's going to find a way to exploit the Bears' defense, and when it counts the most, he'll come up with a big play.
