She is the most annoying part of Pro Football to me. All she knows is one Fairy Tale Style Delivery for her reports....and it just annoys the hell out of me.

Thats the exact reason I never go to broadway plays and instead watch football.....but she just screws that all to hell for me

Listen, I know this is an open forurm and you can say or write anything you want, but I'm disappointed that someone would trash one of the few female sportscasters sho is legitimate.

Televeision is a medium that is full of brainless talking heads, who wouldn't know an "X" from an "O." The females that have climbed up the network ladder are a largely disgrace to legitimate female sportscasters who know the game.

I've heard Kolber many times and there is no question she know's (and loves) football. When she co-hosted the NFL show with Ron Jawarski, she never needed a teleprompter. Contrast this with the tits and ass bimbos such as the jackoff fodder that infestates the sidelines of Monday Night Football, and I'll take Kolber (and her deep voice) anytime.

i agree with nolan.
pro football (and even college) is pathetically becoming inundated with bimbos who have no communication or interpersonal skills.
kolber is one of the few women who actually belong in the field. she does have a general grasp on the game of football and shes not out there simply because she flaunts tits and ass. as far as her looks and voice- i never noticed anything wrong with either. seems ok to me.

Nolan maybe there is a reason she does't need a telepromter. Maybe she's (he) has played the game before. I don't mean to offend but I'll take my women on the softer side.;)

Boilermaker:

This isn't about taste in women. In that regard, there is no "wrong" answer.

My question to you is -- are you watching football for sexual gratification? I watch football for reasons most of us do -- either because we like sports or we have money riding on the game. Most men I know who want to look at tits and ass have plenty of opportunities to do so in society -- whether its at bars, strip clubs, porno video stores, or in countless other ways.

I for one like my football to be played without the distractions of flopping tits and rear ends all over the screen. I'm sure I'm opening myself up for some one liners here, but I have no idea why Suzy Kolber's appearance or feminity/masculinity is an issue to you when there are litterally thousands of other myeteries and injusticies in the universe.

"the bunker"
i see both sides here

i see both sides here

nolan`s a little tired of the "all flash-no substance" snowball that seems to be rolling downhill in sports reporting....and with that i agree....lisa guerrero is an abomination....i have to admit i`m no great kolber fan either.....but i think maybe in her case,it`s a case of guilt by association......espn,of late, just seems to rub me the wrong way...

espn, imo,in general, has basically become a joke....from the commercials with the "i love football and twins" and all that juvenile b.s.,to "long island stuart scott" trying to come off as snoop dog(b-diddy,bron bron, melo man...a few schizzle`s thrown in....no,make that several dozen shizzle`s and pizzles)........the guy`s as street as regis philbin... it`s hard to watch.....all the anchors appear to be wise cracking yuppies....i guess this is meant to be edgy, but it comes off as silly and annoying...unless you`re 17 years old .....

love sports...love having one channel with all the goodies....but soften it up a bit....when you try to hard to be hip,it becomes a little uncomfortable to watch.......

i know this isn`t really on the radar screen as far as important issues of the day, but,it`s kinda cathartic and probably means the wife and children won`t get beaten tonight....

Thank you, Gardenweasel. I couldn't have said it better than you did.

I think what pushed me over the edge finally was the NFL banning the Las Vegas commericals during last year's Super Bowl telecast bcause (gasp!!!) it promotes gambling.

Yet, we get bombarded by a ceaseless stream of juvenille commericals that are not funny nor entertaining and which clearly appeal to 12 year olds (Coors Light ad execs should be assasinated in my view).

It's one thing for this bullshiit to pomulgate during the commerical breaks when I can simply refuse to watch it. But when it transcends into the actual COVERAGE of the game (Guerrero and the blonde bimbo last year on MNF -- I can't remember her name), that's where I voice an opinion.

I didn't mean to put down Boilermaker, because he can like whatever women he eants. btu this discussion is about football overage and the media, which is why I'm addressing the point that was made.

I cannot stand the whole concept of the sideline reporter. When it first started, you had a guy on the field that tried to get injury reports. Now that is part of it, but there also seems to be a quota of "face time" no matter the circumstances of the game. In Suzys case it appears to be a mininum of once a quarter.

Suzy will come on and repeat her interviews with players, which includes every cliche in the book. Lets go to suzy...

"I talked to Dante Culpepper. He said he is working very hard on game plans and his passing. He wants to pass well. He said his confidence is good. confidence is important"....with more emphasis in her voice, "Dante Culpepper is ready."

x5 a game. I find it annoying, but no more so that the constant blabbering by the 3 stooges in the booth.

You will be hard pressed to find anything of importance or interest during her reports. If anyone doubts this, next week I could type out her statements. Hearing players spout cliches is bad, hearing a sideline reporter recite these cliches is worse.

You guys actually watch ESPN with the volume up? I automatically mute it...unless Gary Thorne is calling a game. In any case, it's good seeing others express their disdain for that channel. I've been saying it for months.

Thank you Nolan for represnting us males who actually can think of other things but tits & ass especially when watching football or any sport for that matter. I don't watch sports for tits & ass. The way some on here obsess over it, you would think they get none at all. I love Suzy Kolber as she obviously has enthusiasm & passion for the game which she brings to the table each & every week. She is a gret asset to pro football.

suzy is by far the best Female

suzy is by far the best Female

sports anchor in the biz that i have come across .. watch NFL match-up, i have for years and have been very impressed with her knowledge, delivery, character, and passion for the game .. she is the most researched, informative female I have ever seen in sports, and to be honest the first one I ever respected as non athlete relaying info ... Nolan is right, and I have said the above to my pals many times. .. If UR looking for sex, turn on exotic stations etc, all i want is info w/o being annoying like many males (list too long to name) ... personally, I think Suzy is about avg. looking but she honestly seems like a wonderful person ...

I found an interview with Suzy from Young Money Magazine:

YM: What are your future career goals?

KOLBER: "I love being at the games and at the events, and I would always want to have a hand in that in some way. But I think my goal is to just keep creating the niche because I still want all the other things out of life too. I want family and kids so you have to be able to craft the right mix to be able to have everything. I?ve worked really hard up to this point and been focused on my career and on what I wanted to achieve. It?s being able to keep things in perspective and know what the proper priorities are and really have it all."

Apparently, her sexual preference involves procreating...so I'm guessing she likes to do the "Horizontal Hula" with the male of the species.

Personally, I think her energy is what sets her apart from most. Although, at times, her inflexion gets on my nerves. She tries to make a point by exaggerating her voice. It doesn't make the point any more important. As a rule, I find her insight into a game to be nothing more than pablum that adds little to the game she's covering. For what it's worth, I don't find any sideline reporters to add much to the game. Most are an annoyance. Eric Dickerson was the exception. He could butcher the English language and pretend he was intelligent at the same time. It was a quite a trick. :D

Remember the Saturday Night Live when they did MNF? Dickerson "Who's 'bout about it? You 'bout about it? Daunte Culpepper's 'bout about it!"

ND, Melissa Stark last year.

One chime in though, guys...Most of these sideline reporters are bogus, I think. It's a joke they're even down there. Anything that is of any significance gets sent or teleprompted right up to the booth. They want the fan feel they are actually closer to an NFL sideline. (The same technique was used in the Iraqi war, bring "reality" to your livingroom) If you want that, get 50yd line seats, front row. That'll getcha there.

Well, let's see... in the games she's covering, she's the only chick on the sideline. She only knows what she reads and what people tell her. She's never played a down of football in her life... as far as I know. Maybe a pickup game with her fellow tomboys. You don't have to get shot to know that it hurts to take a bullet, but it helps to describe it. I don't want to sound like a male chauvanist pig, BUT, women sportscasters should stick to their own sports... field hockey, figure skating, tag team unisex muff diving, etc. :D
Please, I don't need to hear any panty wearin' liberal drivel, I've got my tongue in my cheek.
If I want to see a hot chick during a football game, I'll turn my head and look at the bottom of my messages on MadJacks . . . "Ms. Fox News". She's a creation of my computer, but she looks good and she doesn't talk back.
