I don't pay attention to every post, but were there people here actually for the "stimulus" checks by Bush last year?

I thought I remembered at least the majority of the board heavily against them because they wouldn't do anything to "stimulate" the economy.

As far as the new "stimulus" plan: what does more government jobs (on top of the 15%+ of the total job market we have now) being paid for out of the tax-payers pockets to attempt to artificially prop something up have to do with "stimulating" the economy?

Desperate times sometimes calls for biting the bullet and having hard times. We are somehow under the belief that we, as people and as a country, should never have hard times. It's great when we don't, but we have to learn to dig deep and ride the rough patches, too.

It's so funny how more Reb's would have voted yes if only. This package would have made sure the rich would keep getting there big tax cuts after 09. And capital gains tax was cut by 10%. So they bitch about where some of this money is gong. But what there really all about is there brothers in top 3%. Jesus don't they know those guys don't need anymore help. Let them keep saying no.

Who let the retard out? Your post is a bunch of jibberish and whining. If you want to be that way fine. It's obvious not only to me but to others as well you don't know what you're talking about. Try using some facts and logic in at least some of your posts.

You calling anyone a retard is like me trying to convince people im a former two time grammar and spelling champion. :mj07: Isn't about time for u to join the other Fox flock and find out ur thoughts for tomorrow or isn't Hannity on until later tonight?

Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner!!!

It's today's mentality. If you can't afford it, buy it on credit. If things don't go your way, sue someone. In short, taking responsibility and dealing with the mess you created is no longer an option. Sad.

"the bunker"
i remember something relevant that some wise man said (but can`t remember who)...something like " the difference between communism and fascism is that under communism, the government takes the business leaders out and shoots them....under fascism, the government takes the business leaders out to lunch, where they threaten to shoot them unless they obey orders."...

great quote...

we`ve had hard times before and found our way out of them without guaranteeing our grandkids` futures will be leveraged in hock to the chinese and japanese...

with no guarantee that it`ll work...

i guess the thing that we`ve learned from lessons of history is that we do not learn from lessons of history....:banghead:

Exactly. All of these bailouts exacerbate this childish mentality of instant gratification by providing positive reinforcement. It's no different than spoiling a child. Sucks for the responsible few.
