That happened here a while back- we have a guy who has a stand in front of his house. Now his mother sits on the front porch all day while the stand is open and SHE puts the stuff in the bag for you and you pay her directly. No more money box.

OMG Is subliminal bashing acceptable?

Subliminal and 3rd person bashing is intelligent and should be encouraged. It raises the forum IQ. If we follow yyz's lead, we would be smarter with a strong sense of fairness and self-reliance.

There are downsides of course.....no drinking, fewer friends, and a general disconnect with the masses.

Yin and yang are mother fuckers. I want free corn!

On the course!
I had more corn this afternoon! It's wonderful stuff, I tell ya.

My buddy had to head to his sister's for supper, though. Ribs!

Tomorrow we are doing Beer Can Chicken, and more corn. I think I'll bring some shrimp into the mix. Maybe an apricot glaze for them?

A good year for corn, for sure, but don't forget the tomatoes. :0008

Many years ago I used to go fishing up in Fremont Wisconsin with friends of mine. Many of us would meet there every year. One year on the way there I stopped at a farm stand and loaded up on corn and other things. Vidalias and such. We grilled the corn the first night. It was spectacular. Some of the boys decided to get off the river early the following day, and go get more corn for that night's dinner. Shit was tougher than hell. Later on I found out the idiot's got lost and never found the stand but saw all kinds of open corn fields, so they just helped themselves.

Later that night we all discussed the difference between sweet and feed corn as well as the difference between charity and theft.

Tomatoes are a few days away. Maybe two or three.

I grew up on tomato sammies and corn in the Summer!

Tomatoes are amazing here this year. I really miss them because the last 2 years they sucked.

If you are from the Midwest and our age, I can't imagine NOT growing up this way....

And if you didn't, you sure missed out on some mighty fine eating...
