I disagree. It does matter. Race cuts both ways - it is just as 'racist' to vote for a guy solely because of his color as it is to vote against him solely on his color.

Unfortunately, we are still having to deal with this issue in this country.

In the 2008 general election, race-based voting occurred at both ends of the political spectrum but I doubt it had any significant impact on the outcome of the election.
