Tea Party Doesn?t Offer Hope for Liberty

J.H. Huebert

In my recent Mises Circle speech in Chicago (video below), I used some polling data to demonstrate that the Tea Party offers little hope for the cause of liberty. Now here?s a new sad fact: 70% of tea party supporters oppose cuts to social security or Medicare to reduce the government?s budget deficit. So not only are they okay with forced wealth transfers (to themselves), they also aren?t even serious about fixing the deficit.

Who and what will advance liberty? I offer some thoughts in the speech.

Those original birth records typically include additional birth details, such as the hospital and delivering doctor, said Dr. Chiyome Fukino, the state's former health director who twice looked at and publicly confirmed Obama's original long-form birth records.

But those documents are state government property that can't be released to anyone, even the president himself, said Joshua Wisch, special assistant to the state attorney general. Obama would be able to inspect his birth records if he visited the Health Department in person, but original records of live birth are never released, he said.

Fukino, who served as the state's health director until late last year under former Republican Gov. Linda Lingle, said in an interview with The Associated Press she's convinced the long-form document is authentic. She issued public statements in 2008 and 2009 saying she had seen the original records.

It still is and always will be a waste of time. The teabaggers just can't stand a black man being President.

Ah, so Hillary had John Jr. killed? That's a new one for me. It's amazing how much I don't know about the real world these days.

You are scared to death that the message will get out, you are pissing all over yourselves with glee because Beck, Palin, Fox had taken over the Tea Party and made a mockery of it.

A man like Paul scares you, he will cut all of your freebies, he will will stop the illegal taxation and the tax feeders might actually have to participate in contributing to the system.

Yes, I know they pay their taxes at the pump and the stores, but a majority of the Government handouts will stop.

It's very easy to paint the current Tea Party as "Racist Homophobes" but that is the weakest fallout of all. Next to the "Hitler Charge" as I have previously posted.

BIGGER GOVERNMENT is your solution because something in your world went wrong. You firmly believe you deserve some of my stuff but you aren't man enough to come and take it yourself so you rely on Uncle Scam to do the dirty work.

What did go wrong in your world Muffy?

Why is it that you are such an angry little person and think you have the right to other peoples stuff? Do you think you can just walk into a store and take something you want without paying for it?

Ron Paul is the most important politician in America today because he's the rare politician ? maybe the only politician ? who always says exactly what he really believes. Unlike Paul Ryan, Hayley Barbour, Mitt Romney, Mitch Daniels, and Mike Huckabee, who all raised taxes while calling for lower taxes, Ron Paul gives us a chance to examine the ideas currently driving the conservative movement in their pure form.

For example, here are some of the things Paul said to me during an interview in his office earlier this year, for a new profile about him that appears in the May issue of Esquire.

Take small government: Paul never plays the familiar game of defending social programs (Obama is going to reduce Medicare!) while secretly plotting to destroy them. I argue the case," he told me, "that if 1 percent of the people need food stamps, you give up 100 percent of the principle. And then 1 percent becomes 2 percent, until now we have 30 percent. It's not gonna be the perfect free society until you reject the whole idea that the government should be redistributing wealth."

This is EXACTLY what the problem is.

Do YOU really believ that--or are you just kidding?

Have yet to see tea party rally held on MLK birthday :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_Party_movement

The Tea Party is an American populist[1][2][3] political movement, which is generally recognized as conservative and libertarian,[4][5] and has sponsored protests and supported political candidates since 2009.[6][7][8] It endorses reduced government spending,[9][10] opposition to taxation in varying degrees,[10] reduction of the national debt and federal budget deficit,[9] and adherence to an originalist interpretation of the United States Constitution.[11]
The name "Tea Party" is a reference to the Boston Tea Party, a protest by colonists who objected to a British tax on tea in 1773 and demonstrated by dumping British tea taken from docked ships into the harbor.[12] Some commentators have referred to the Tea in "Tea Party" as the bacronym "Taxed Enough Already".[13][14]

Duff has praised Ron Paul in numerous posts, but you just can't get past your petty differences with him. It's clouding your objectivity.

And your "Hitler Charge" was weak.

Sure, I respect the honesty of Paul and Kucinich too, but I don't think either is qualified to be President.

Kucinich sees flying saucers, and Paul thinks we should revert to barter, using bits of precious metals.

What "Hitler" charge?

I don't know many that would subscribe to Muffies old whitey theory vs not liking tax and spend/unemployment-housing- unprecedented deficits etc

To subscribe to such a theory one would have to believe that the voters in all 2010 swing states wisconsin-penn ohio etc including O's senate old senate district in ill
--somewhere between 2008 election and 2010 did the ole  what! I didn't know he was black--and changed their vote. :SIB
