BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Joel Klatt headlined a big night of offense for Colorado, throwing for 211 yards in the first quarter Saturday en route to a 398-yard, three-touchdown game and a 41-20 win over surprisingly overmatched Texas A&M.
Klatt, a senior, finished 28-for-36 with no interceptions. This was his third 300-yard game. He was well on the way to his third 400-yard performance, but coach Gary Barnett gave him the night off after he hit Quinn Sypniewski for a 36-yard score and a 41-6 lead midway through the third.
Colorado avgs 243.6 passing yards & #2 in the nation overall in rush defense with an average of just 79.5 rushing yards allowed....
----Ok I'm not saying that Colorado is a Terrific team but everyone who has played a sport at the college level (me) for instance knows that when someone gets hot they get hot.....It seems like this QB Klatt is pretty decent once he gets hot and as we know its a QB who can decide a tight game with one pass....look at what happend with Mcnabb against Dallas...
This is how Colorado wins if Klatt plays great, he is a senior and Young is only a junior need I remind everyone....Colorado kid has something to play for just like Young...
Ok----If Young doesn't scramble around like he did at A & M, Tex is going to be in a LOTTA TROUBLE. I'm serious. I know everyone is going to be like whatever Texas is great but honestly this Colorado team has a better team defense than A & M.
Also If Vince Young sits the pocket and lets Colorado get energized, He may get sacked or be forced to abandon the run in a tight game because Colorado's rush defense is Lagit.
These are my points....
1) Colorado is going to be energized to play agianst #2 team in the Nation just like AM was.
2)Clatt plays very well they have a chance
3) Young sits in the pocket Texas has a realistic chance of losing
Lastly, I'm kinda of worried about Tex if Colorado Klatt starts rushing around, Tex looked horrible and maybe we all saw the way that Tex can be beaten. Tex Defense simply did not look good last week. Texas will try to run the ball but may not have to much luck at doing so.
Yes it is very realistic and possible if Young sits the pocket for Tex to lose. Teams play a lot different when its championship time.....Maybe a Colorado 1st half pick is the way to go in this one.
GLA....I'dd love to see PSU play USC
