Hey everyone, This site was born in 1998—27 years ago as of this last May. That's a lifetime in internet years. Over those decades, we've been through everything. We've watched members fall in love and get married, we've mourned those we've lost, celebrated new babies, offered real-life advice during tough times, argued like family, bashed ideas (and sometimes each other), welcomed teenagers who grew into adults here, and shared stories with members spanning generations—men, women, young, old.

If you've been around since the early days, you know we've truly seen it all. Traffic-wise, yeah, we've had higher peaks. The golden era was probably 2002–2008, when forums were everywhere and this place was buzzing. Hundreds of similar communities popped up back then; many were great, but most have vanished. The fact that we're still here, still active, still real—that means something. I'm damn proud of it. We're not the biggest, not the flashiest, and definitely not the most profitable, but when it comes to the quality of people who post and hang out here? Hands down, this is the best community on the internet.

A lot of members have come and gone over the years, and some will tell you the "old days" were the glory days. I respectfully disagree. With the people we have right now—the ones who post, contribute, and even those who quietly lurk—this place is better than it's ever been. That's all I wanted to say. Just a huge thank you to every single one of you who keeps this community alive. Whether you post every day or just check in now and then, you make this place what it is.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. Here's to many more years together.

On the course!
I've been here forever. Met many of the longtime members and enjoyed most of the ride. Jack has always been a gracious host here, and I always wish the best for him.

Over a 25+ year run, many people come and go. Sadly, many pass away, as well. Hell, I started in my 30s and I'm in my 60s now.

Some of the "old timers" bemoan the passing of the "good old days", but as Thomas Wolfe wrote, "You can never go home again". Enjoy where you are!

I've long since given up thinking I can win at the gambling endeavor, and only bet "pizza money" the last several years.

Madjacksports.com is a comfortable pair of shoes though, and I will never give that up. I still keep in touch with Jack and a few other long time posters here, and that's good enough for me!

Merry Christmas to all of you!

I still remember how I found out about Madjacks. I was playing on a church softball team, of all things. Each team was allowed 2 "ringers". Well, me and the other "ringer" (Kent) both liked to bet sports. One day he told me about Madjacks. Said I needed to check it out. Well, it had been 6-7 years since I ditched my group of gambling friends, so it was nice to have a community to discuss sports betting.

I have no idea if Kent is still around, or even what his screen name was here. But I'm sure glad he told me about this place.

Jack, I've said it before, and I'll say it again... Thank you for everything you do to keep the lights on here.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Well Jack, I can say that I've been here for 26 years (since my early 30's) and I'm proud to call it home. I've dabbled in some other sites throughout the years, but not for long, and I can say this is the only site I visit. I've learned alot about handicapping, people, communication and the dialogue with other posters is a major part of my day. Thanks Jack for putting together such a truly outstanding site. Merry X-mas to you and all Madjackers and like redsfann noted.......Here's to 27 more years!!!

I'd like to chime in with a thanks for this site as well. I believe it was the old Nolan Dalla NFL posts that first had me visiting, even when I was suffering with Canada's Sports Select bullshit odds back near century's flip. I opened my first offshore in January 2001 and then felt bold enough to participate (God bless Ravens over Giants in the last pre-Brady Bowl!)

I'd come and gone sporadically throughout this last quarter-century, heavily attacking MLB for the first decade or so. I remember getting some computer tips within, getting some updates on current events that I'd missed from the mainstream, and even the occasional silly arguments. The whole reason that I first opened a youtube account was because of this site, as I learned the magical trick of being able being able to embed songs after whatever silly nonsense I tried to offer by way of handicapping or otherwise.

That being said--long-winded and alone this Christmas eve--my reappearance this past April, with some drunken rant about the status of cannabis shops here in T.O., came on the heels of my darkest moments, as I was trying to recover from some stupid games that I had been playing. I was fortunate to not win stupid prizes. The freedom allowed here, to go bonkers posting tunes and rants, has been very therapeutic and might be part of the reason that my sorry ass has survived. Probably overkill at this point, both in said thread and my words at present. Great songs are worth hearing again and I can't claim to be out of the woods yet.

I hope all within are having a great holiday season.
All the best to you and yours for the new year.

Forgive a couple of indulgences.
First was the track I couldn't post, within, without my youtube account. Be warned: is instrumental. Still a top-10 fave instrumental track.

Be well.

Happy holidays Jack. You should be proud of what you built here. Although I don't dabble like I used to, when I do, I look at this site first before pulling the trigger. I often think of the good times had at your Super Bowl parties and the talks I had with your dad. Damn he was a special man. Cheers.
