So, I have a pretty decent play set up for Kentucky State Finals... I just have to see what kind of line gets set.

My nephew lost tonight in Kentucky 1a playoffs and the team that beat them really got the benefit of some home cooking (Can you believe that state semifinals are not played on a neutral field?) In the end it does not really matter as they were just playing for 2nd. The state Champion is going to be coming out of Beechwood. I am looking for a line any where under 28 and I will hit it hard. As hard as they allow. I fully expect the final score to be 60-10 or so... I will talk some more about it once we get Kentucky state lines.

Next- Wheelersburg Ohio has made the state Finals in Ohio. This is a team that I am intricately familiar with for various reasons. They will be playing Pemberville... It should be one of hell of a matchup but once I get a break down we will see what we can get cooking.

Finally, Huntington High fell tonight and their undefeated season comes to an end after running into a good Spring Valley team.

State Finals are here for Ky, OHio and WVA... Texas not far behind!!!

Crazy that they keep these kids playing football into December at the high school level... Not that I'm complaining by any means.

*Pewamo-Westphalia skipper is HC Jeremy Miller who took the job by promotion 5 years ago. In that time, he has led Pirates to 59-8 mark and guided P-W to 3 straight seasons to make the Final game.... The program seeks its 2nd consecutive State Title and has reached the Final 4 of the tournament the last 4 seasons under his tutelage.... Last week, P-W wasn't tested in a 51-8 laugher.... Although Pirates opened season with a loss (Monroe St Mary Catholic 28-21) the team reeled off 12 straight win up to last week..... The Defense is playing well recording 6 shut out performances...

The highest Saugatuck has scored in the past 3 weeks is 14 points, but surprisingly that's all that was needed... They have scored a combined 351 points less this year which is almost half less than what they scored in just 11 games last season with 588 points... Saugatuck finished 2nd in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Lakeshore Division and is making its 2nd appearance in the Finals.... Indians were runner-up in Div 8 in 2010, losing to Sacred Heart... The team has managed to fly under the radar heading into the post season... They have skated by winning 14-7 to Madison Heights to advance and beat Vermontville Maple Valley 14-8....then Cassopolis 7-6 in regionals....They are using mantra "Defense Wins Championships" to a whole new level... In 2015, Indians lost to Ishpeming 22-16.... They want to turn the script on P-W....

Unfortunately, I fear its going to be more of the norm with SAUGATUCK.. the offense runs misdirection out of the Wing-T.... Pewamo-westphalia has too much offense here and should be able to pull away and hide not having to worry too much than Indians are built to score much... Still, Indian Defense seems pretty Stout, so I'm thinking a 35-7 type of game but don't want to eat 21 points of chalk..

*I may get in trouble with this one but I really think that the fact these two hooked horns in Week 4 and Lakers came away with a pretty comfortable win (37-16) shouldn't be overlooked... Granted teams change and Lady MO is huge, but W Bloomfield earned its first title game berth by upending the defending state Champ, Cass Tech in a 9-7 nailbiter shows tremendous focus and maturity by the program..... Thankfully, they are blessed with a terrific Field Goal Kicker, O'Shea was 3 for 4 connecting on a 31, 26 & 27 yarder to secure the win...W Bloomfield has perhaps the best QB in the state, Bryce Veasley, (Sr 6'4" 230 lb) has some fantastic numbers (210 of 356 for 3,273 yards w/25 Tds) has perhaps the top trio of WRs in the state to throw to.... WR Taj Mustafa has 61 catches for 831 yards w/6 Tds.... AJ Abbott has 53 receptions for 661 yards w/8 Tds.... JR Tre Mosley has 42 receptions for 838 yards w/10 Tds..... Mustapha and Abbott are both Wisconsin Badger bound while Veasley has a full offer to Bowling Green..... On Defense, Bloomfield MLB Jr Lance Dixon is a 3 star recruit probably going to Michigan St.... The Lakers also beat the #4 Seed Utica Eisenhower.

Clarkston Wolves shouldn't be written off so easily as it had a couple of signature Wins in the playoffs themselves including a 27-7 dismantling of Detroit Catholic Central.... This trip to the Finals is the first time since 2014 which it won its second back to back Championships.... The team is in good hands with the Leadership of HC Kurt Richardson who has amassed a record of 244 wins with 86 losses in 31 years..... Clarkston has two premiere RBs, Josh Cantu (244 carries for 1,478 yards w/23 Tds) & Michael Fluegel has 95 carries for 814 yards w/9 Tds...Opening huge holes is Linemen like Stewart Newblatt (6'3" 250), FROSH Garrett Dellinger (6'5" 245) and Rocco Spindler (6'5" 250) who is the son of Detroit Lions Defensive Lineman Marc Spindler..

Gotta give all due respect to Clarkston but think this Bloomfield team might have a little more firepower so hope they can cover a TD in this one.

West is on a 24 game playoff win streak spanning 5 years... Falcons have been pushed to its limits the last two winning regional by 2 points and having to come from behind and overcome a 21 point deficit in last week's semis.....
