Anything white? I don't care for sandwiches so that takes away the bread. Unless you count hoagies- they are on white rolls I guess.
No middle eastern places that I know of-
we have:
The Hometown Eatery- home cooked foods
The Turnpike Restaurant- same thing
Carriage Corner Restaurant- same deal again
Mcdonalds
The Twisted Bull- Sandwich joint and some home cooked stuff but mostly fried stuff- (cowboy food)
Subway
OIP- Italian Pizza shop
Larry's Subs- Hoagie shop
Sheetz- Convenience store
Weis Markets- grocery store with a salad bar and a pizza/Fried chicken take out menu
Next closest places to eat are in Lewisburg 9 miles away- college town of Bucknell University
There's where the Applebee's, Damon's, some fast food places, etc. are and Selinsgrove 20 miles away- home of Susquehanna University- they have Texas Roadhouse, Longhorn Steakhouse, Applebees, and the strip with lots of fast food. You have to go to Williamsport or Penn State to get Red Lobster and places like that. I did see as we were driving through Lewisburg that there are some "ethnic" places to eat but the College its self has a large food building that they make food from all over to make it a variety for the variety of students that attend there.
I'm having Subway Tuna with Jalepenos for lunch with Jacked Up Doritos and a Sprite today. You have to remember we don't live in the city- that's why our home town has the nickname "Cowtown USA". We have a ton of horse and buggy amish here so people around here are born and raised on home cooked foods and with the involvement in sports etc. that's where the fast food comes in. We would probably have to go to Harrisburg to get the kinds of foods you are talking about ethnicity wise.
For example my 11 yr old son last night walked to my house after school so he could change into his ball uniform and eat a can of beefaronis before he got picked up by his step mom to be dropped off at his ball game because that was the only time he would have to eat in the midst of all the chaos and to tell you the truth my daughter walked to my house after her field hockey game and did her homework and got her shower so when her dad stopped to pick her up on his way home she was ready for bed (they are with him this week)and I never did ask her what she had to eat for supper because I was at a banquet and I only saw her for about 15 minutes when we got home til he picked her up. Some days they have to fend for themselves or we are so cramped for time that I have to run through the drive thru and they have to eat in the car.
