2,000 to pay approx 5,300

i had a great run in vegas, so we're playing with westgate's money!

HEDGE OR NOT HEDGE?

Feel like UNC is similar to Indiana as Nova was to Miami. Athletic, talent on the floor, but just deeper and more consistent. Single digit game and IU goes cold for 3-4 minutes while Carolina goes on a 18-8 type run to bury them.

I have been betting a long time and I would say no. You made the bet to win, why hedge when you have half the bet won. Now you have a no juice bet risking 2,000 to win 5,300, sounds like good value to me. I know its tempting with a larger play, but I would at least watch the first half and see how it goes. Easy for me to say, but I can't tell you how many times I cost myself money hedging. I know there are some that swear by it, but that is my two cents.

Hedging is not the right play, I don't care what anybody says, you have a huge edge here, don't give the edge back. You might lose but if you have this edge all the time, you will come out way ahead.

Really?

What was the point of your 2 team parlay if you're hedging already?

2000 is a huge bet for me so I would lay $1k on IU as hedge to make sure I limit my loss's just in case. I would take $4200 all day to know I only lose $1100 max. imo only :toast:

Exactly! People always wondering to hedge? You make the bet so you could hedge?
Never gonna understand this?

It's gambling for a reason. I'm with Jack, let it ride.

You're right. I made the bet with extreme confidence and expecting to win.

I hedged a 3 teamers while in Vegas( took Miami -14 against Buffalo) and screwed myself out of about 35% extra profit as Buffalo covered easy. Let a friend talk me into it!

In general i agree.......But if facts change ya have ta be smart n fluid .. In
my case I was all Giddy on having Carolina at a Pick in the Super Bowl. near game time The $$ poured in on The Broncos.. I cant see it but i have learned over a long Career. "".Money Talks"" esp as i have said here over and over If it's illogical heed it. Took the Broncos ML and cashed ag what i thought originally. Example #2 Brewers last year Shit team and some one here ws tracking' em........But But every time they got bet even ag Micahel Wacha they won My rec on and ag the Brewers was unbelievable vs just fading them. Bob and weave..... Last one when i was posting bases last summer i stated about a particular play that if the line drops 20 cent close to game time pass or take the other side...... Al l i got was Troll #2 . wanting to know if i bet the game.... No one paid attention to the instructions or didn't understand them.... i take that back some did to conclude If Carolina was the 2nd half of a Parlay for me i wd have hedged as i did with the str up play switching sides........Ya cant take a play well in advance and not follow it to min to game time But this is my profession not a hobby.. For clarification ask Vinnie ..he is going Pay !!!...

Is there any $ figure that would cause you guys to deviate from the standard principle of not hedging?

I bet 2k cuz that was the max allowed on a parlay. I was willing to be my entire winnings for the week because I figured fuck it at worst I leave Vegas with the same I entered.
