Only Republicans and Independents should read this post.
After Bushs' term, it was obvious that the Dems could run anyone and they were going to win the 2008 election. They did run "almost anyone" and ended up with The Obama.
America had to endure two years of a demo president and Congress and we may survive although that jury is still out.
On the other hand, there is no better script that could have been written for a Republican takeover of the White House and Congress in 2012.
Just think, if the dems would have nominated a competent person, there is no way they would have been defeated for a second term and it is very unlikely that even the tea party movement could have had a dramatic mid-term impact. Let's just say it would have been President Hillary. As much as you may disagree with her politics, she would be a leader and the nation would not be in the situation it is now in AND, more importantly, I'm sure she would have won a second term.
With The Obama running again on this record, there is no doubt his base will not turn out (the far left and far right share their disgust with him), blacks won't turn out (what promise has he kept) and Hispanics won't turn out (he lied to them). Just about any Republican should win easily and bring a majority to the Senate with him.
This would have been unthinkable in 2008 but, now it is unthinkable that the nation will accept four more years of The Obama.
I think we will have eight years of a Republican WH and at least two years of a Republican Congress...more if they get something done.
The amazing thing is it only took two years for the citizens to forget about any trangressions from the Bush years (of course the media refuses to give it up) but, it will take at least two full terms for them to forget about the Obama liberal experiment...if not longer. Now that the baby boomers are entering retirement, does anyone thing they are going to take this kind of chance again?
One key will be the selection of the VP for the Republican candidate. The right pick should ensure at least another Republican term.
Of course this is just between us as the liberals on this site already have to live with The Obama and we don't make their lives any easier as you know they are holding their nose when they have to try to defend him. I'm sure they also know what they are up against for the next eight years. I'm afraid the gravy train is over for the malcontents, the illegals, the criminals, the frauds, the lazy and those that don't make a contribution.
It truly is an amazing political turnaround in just two years.
