Mats Sundin playin' the last time the Leafs made final 4 / Conference Championship? Never mind no cup--Leafs have not been in the finals in my lifetime. Leafs have never been to the finals since expansion. Fuck that presently.

email or ring me, as you see fit

Ummm....stop talking about Leafs making semi finals or finals, I don't think they will even win this series, don't even talk about it semis and finals, sheesh.......... stop with the jinxo_O:oops:

Oh and I am no longer "in the area", but no matter where I am.....I am always a Leaf fan:smilies1

Holy fuck, man. Jinx?
A simple "not interested" or "not in Toronto" or "I'm not a believer" would have sufficed.

My black magic isn't working this year.
My eyes seem to be. Hence, the enthusiasm.

spoiler warning:
Rosebud was his sled.
The box contained her head.
Nothing is free.
Leafs in 3.

Stop hedging your belief system.
This year is different.

The Leafs are +200 underdogs to win Game 3, and that makes sense. It is pretty much a given that Florida wins both games in Sunrise, it would be an absolute shocker if Leafs win Game 3, yep a complete shocker.

You know the Leafs ain't sweeping Florida, and you know Florida will be coming out "all guns a blazing" in Game 3. Pretty much a lock that the series will be all tied up heading back to Toronto. Hope I am wrong, but I don't see the Leafs winning either Game 3 or 4.

But hey Diane Chambers said she'd never ever have anything to do with Sam Malone and look what happened there. So yep, anything can happen. And yes that's right I pulled out a Cheers reference, gotta love that.

I got a bad feeling Florida beat-downs the Leafs in Game 3 (I sense a blow-out), and then they also win Game 4, but I hope that is just a bad case of gingivitis, but yep not a good feeling. $_57.jpg

I think I prefer Mindy. Maybe Laverne, when she's drunk.

This is fucking extreme, aye?
Would be nice to find some overtime magic.

This is where Berube earns his keep.

Leafs have to reset and come out strong in game 4.

ffsakes, what the hell is up with Stolarz?!
Word is that game #5 might be a longshot.
I was sold on this guy early, but feared his injury history.

Doggystyle visitors, this weekend? Split minimum, seems likely.
Leafs and Caps would be groovy. Vegas needs. Helleandback is streaky.

Win or lose on Sunday, Leafs need to bring hammertime for game #5 on Wednesday.
Getting ahead of myself. 3-1 vs 2-2 seems major. Hit the net, captain.

I have received word that Ian Turnbull will be in the line-up for Game 4. I know he's 71 years old, but I agree with Berube's decision to put him in the line-up.

Before Game 3 started I was positive Florida would tie up the series 2-2 and it would go back to Toronto all tied up. But with this late breaking news of Turnbull in the line-up I might be wrong, Leafs might pull off the upset and "snag one" in Sunrise Florida.

Oh and ummm......I sent Berube an e-mail to put a spy in Florida locker room, there has not been an "illegal stick penalty" in the NHL in like a billion years. Time to get sneaky and get that power-play goal on an illegal stick call, that would be epic.

Go Leafs Go!

Note: Turnbull still holds the Maple Leaf team record for most points in a season (79) by a defenceman . He also still holds the NHL record for most goals in a game by a defenceman, with 5 in a game against the Detroit Red Wings (February 2, 1977).

I guess since it is Jack's website I should invite Jack as well. I doubt he's interested in joining Leaf Nation, but just to do the right thing I will formally invite MadJack.

So yes he is now officially invited.

You guys are fucking with my head with some of these hockey card posts.

Turnbell still have record for a D-man, with 5 goals in a game?

Googly goal:

The record for most goals scored by a defenseman in a single NHL game is 5 goals, achieved by Ian Turnbull on February 2, 1977, against the Detroit Red Wings.

I think I completed 5 straight sets, from whatever year up until that 79-80 Gretzky rookie year (blue borders). Marking the fuck out of checklists and all, cramming shit into front pockets to take to school.

A little regression never hurt anybody.
Reminds me of days when 6 playoff wins wasn't unfathomable.

7 anyone?

More interesting hockey note, I heard some podcast today where they were discussing some trade that the Montreal Canadiens were trying to make--earlyish-70's--of some 5-for-1 deal for the first overall pick that ended up being Denis Potvin (who they targetted) to the Islanders. Google search tells me #1 in the 1973 draft. Islanders teams from 1980-1983 were some of the best ever, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to say how much Potvin made or broke their dominance; they were stacked with Mike Bossy, Bryan Trottier, Gillies, ad absurdum. My first true hatred was for the Montreal Canadiens, though, and I wonder how rebellious that might have become if the mid-70's Habfest would have continued into the Islanders dynasty. Prison, perhaps.

Leafs 2nd period adjustments crucial for game 4.

Nothing is real.
Anything is possible.
