Not really a fair comparison. People still go to see Tom Jones too, but when is the last time you heard Cher or Tom Jones on the radio? You can't go 4 hours without hearing a Def Leppard song. If people didn't want to hear it, it wouldn't continue to be played.

If you don't like them, that's cool, but if you're trying to deny their continued success you're barking up the wrong mic stand.

The Tom Jones reference reminded me of this comedian's story... hilarious... it's worth the listen.

I don't understand why people listen to music for "invention"

oOH LOH OOHH what an inventive band, they use more samples woooooooooo!!

why would you listen to music to try to make yourself feel smarter, go back to school and get a P.H.D :mj07:

listening to music is supposed to be fun

ok, now go put JESSE'S GIRL on the turntable

I don't dislike Def Leppard, I'm an 80's hair band guy. To say the majority of their music is not alike would be wrong, however.

OK band, came to Pittsburgh within the last year and I passed on going. Show didn't sell out and I wouldn't expect it to.

80's hair bands I would not pass up seeing if I could:

GNR
Motley Crue (have seen them recently)
Kiss (have seen them recently, though I would consider more than just a hair band)
Cinderella
Saigon Kick
Bullet Boys
Ratt (would love to see again)
Aerosmith (again, from that generation but might not fit the category)
Tesla

Several I wouldn't go see if they were just in a show by themselves, but if they showed up at a music festival together I might go:
Skid Row
Hanoi Rocks
Twisted Sister
Jetboy
Kix
Brittany Fox

I'm sure I am forgetting some.
