While I disagree about southernerns, being born a Texan and having lived in So Caro for a while, I do agree with Sponge & most of his political views.
The South is responsible for putting Bush in office, but I dont think its cause they are dumb and gullible.
The south is just not very open to change....hence dixie flags & some still clutching to the ways b4 racial equality was granted.....
What it is is that the south is just more set in their ways & it really doesnt matter too much if 99% of the world feels their way is wrong...to them its still right. The 99% is wrong.

I lived most of my life in New England so I am not a southerner. Transplanted dont count.
I voted for Bush. I will not deny that. And there are alot of things about him now that disturb me.
Going to war with Iraq and killing Saddam was a good thing to me. And I dont care how he had to do it.
We will somehow get this worked out with the middle east.
The scary part to me is what if Al Gore had been elected. I puke up in my mouth just thinking about where we would be if that had happened.

GW wasnt really a 'southern' boy. He was born in Virginia, but that was Bristish Virginia which extended well up into what is today the Pittsburgh area.
TJ was a 'real' Virginian.
Sure they come from the South. The babies won't vote for anything else so you have to cater to them and throw one on the ticket. Take your race statement and shove it up your ass.
