Many Florida Jews who had previously been open to McCain appear to share the couple?s aversion to Palin, according to political scientists, polling data and anecdotal reporting. ?She stands for all the wrong things in the eyes of the Jewish community,? says Kenneth Wald, a professor at the University of Florida. Among the examples he cites: Palin seems to disdain intellectualism, she?s a vociferous opponent of gun control and she attended a fundamentalist church that hosted Jews for Jesus, which seeks to convert Jews to Christianity. (Palin apparently sat through a speech by a leader of the group in which he said terrorist attacks on Israel were punishment for Israelis? failure to accept Jesus as the Messiah.) An American Jewish Committee poll taken in the weeks after Palin was picked found that 54 percent of respondents disapproved of her selection, compared to 37 percent who approved. And that was before the onslaught of withering criticism of her interviews with CBS?s Katie Couric.
..................................................................

Now the Jewish people are against McCain because of Sarah !'

Does it really matter who retired Jews in Florida WANT to vote for? They will accidentally vote for Buchanan anyway.

Definitely no corruption during that election. Good thing the supreme court decided not to re-count the votes as it would have undermined the credibility of the election. And we have had so many good times since with GW that it was all worth it in the end.

Here are the comments on this letter from "Christopher" from High Springs, Florida:
It is time for Human events to get real. Side with real conservatives, and quit trying to fool them. This letter is nice, but irrelevant in a campaign that ignores facts anyway. We have two horrible pro-big government candidates and no CYA letter written 2 years ago is going to make John Mccain a viable Republican candidate.

Those who voted for Mccain in the primaries are to blame. You did this to us, we had viable candidates who might have resuscitated this dying party. Stop the defeated sputtering, we lost and we deserve it. Hopefully the loss will be the kick in the pants conservatives and Republicans need.

I will vote for Mccain because I believe Obama will socialize healthcare, but I will not for one second submit myself in support of a candidate, and a party who has abandoned it's base. John Mccain is a good man and a war hero, but he will never be a conservative president. I will vote for Mccain but I will not utter one word to an undecided voter, nor contribute one red cent to his campaign, because he has embarrassed our movement and our future with his candidacy. He is not to blame, those of you who voted for him in the primary are.

Pretty much dead on from where I sit.

Are you even a US citizen anymore?
Actually, yes but I have mostly avoided commenting on this Presidential election as I feel that our choices are the worst in my lifetime. However, I do find some consolation in the fact that I have been planning my exit strategy for some time.

I never lived in the US until I was 14 years old and as a result of my childhood influences, have never felt as "American" as most people around me. Make no mistake, I am ready to get the f*ck out.

I don't like foreigners....but I guess you are one of the "good ones".

I feel the opposite bout the candidates. I think they are the best combined choices since Clinton v Dole.

Good luck with your exit strategy. We will miss you.

probably smartest comment in forum this year.

Sad thing is it will get worse--not enough tax payors to offset those paying no taxes + illegals.

Consider tax revenue will 0 chance of increasing in next few years--

You have ssn-medicare/medicade running deficits and will get worse --and instead of trying to make these solvent--want to add the grandaddy of all healthcare reform?

Look at all of the anti-Obama ads on the site if yur source. People are sick and tired of the extreme right propaganda, as in 8 years it has gotten us a destroyed econ, a war built on lies, and perhaps the most inept administration in history.

Not sure why so many worry about Fld this time. They can give it to John. And it looks like if you watch all networks even fox. If things break as they look now Obama will win big with out it. Most other then fox have it like 300 to what ever John gets. I'm sure all know 270 is needed. Even fox god bless them Friday showed a est of Obama 281 to ??? a win by Obama. That shocked me more then anything. When they say things like John can win Ohio and Fld and still lose. That means things are really changing other places.
I think it's because John waited to long to deside what he thought about economy. Iraq war fading fast.
