Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
Why do we need another network to watch football? :SIB

Lets see, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, ESPN, and all the smaller ones that are out there doing college
:gf:

I guess this was my point in the beginning.:SIB Before you know it they will have the X-Games Network and we will all be broke:scared ...
Franky:00hour

This is all I know.........For decades, we watched the games for FREE on CBS and NBC and ABC. FOX came into the picture, and that was fine....still network TV.
Once "pay" networks started getting the rights, the game was on. And no......I can't see buying a network's shit for a handfull of games each year.

For the guys who say, "Just get Dish!", it should have never come to that. Why should a game here, and a game there, be pimped out to these guys?
No, they figure if they can get ad revenue, AND pick your pocket as well, why the fuk not!!!????

This is all being geared towards you paying to watch every sporting event out there. They will herd you like sheep, right into their pen.

Yea, what he said! :com: Good job YYZ :bigun:

Sounds like a few of my conspiracy theories:shrug:

On the course!
I read today how the NFL Network feels Big Cable is holding us hostage? They feel Big Cable isn't being fair, because they tilt the table by having their own channels on the basic system, and want to put NFL Network on a tier?

I almost spit up on the paper!

They actually said that with a straight face? An entity that sold the rights for broadcasting its product for several billions of dollars, and then decided to create its own network to pluck some of those games BACK from the people who bought them, and RE-SELL them to consumers at a higher cost?

Fuk you!!

These guys are a joke.

"Big Cable is keeping you from seeing these games."

Really? If I recall correctly, we never had games on Thursday night until your self-serving network came along. We had all the football we needed on Sunday and Monday. We found it without any special hook-ups, deals, or driving to the next county.

Piss on the NFL, and their hopefully soon to be extinct network!

YYZ, I respectfully disagree. It is cable's fault.

Bottom Line:

Company A has a differentiated product, which includes a feature you want (Dallas/GB)

Company B also has a product, but decided they did not want to include the feature.

It's a free world - You can choose to buy your product from company A or company B.

You choose company B. Company B doesn't have Dallas/GB.

You choose not to watch it. Don't blame the NFL network.

Directv had no problem putting on basic tier, AND not charging customers more for it.

Cable - well, they force all sorts of crap channels down people's throughts (Nickelodeon anyone?) and yet don't offer the product you want.

Again - buy the product that gives you the services you want. It doesn't help to complain about a substandard provider and product. Buy the better one.

I know this is blasphemy - but watching the Packers is NOT a God given right. It is entertainment - it is football. Nobody said it has to be free.

I credit Directv for differnentiating their product - they have over 100 HD channels, the NFL network AND the Big 10 network. Cable fell asleep - nobody to blame but themselves.

Go Get DirectV!

You don't get it, Mags.

WHY IS ANYONE PAYING FOR IT, WHEN IT WAS ALREADY SOLD?

These games should be on the regular networks on Sunday or Monday, PERIOD! Not because that's what I want, but rather that's who paid for it!

How does the NFL sell their rights to these networks, and then create their own show?

Am I gonna sell my car to you, and keep the tires? Then tell you, "Go buy tires at the tire shop I own."

You see.......We are not getting FREE games. FOX, NBC, ABC, and ESPN paid deeply for them.

Personally, I don't care if I ever see a game. It's not that big of a deal to me. But I don't want one of the richest organizations in the world telling me to cry for them. I hope cable keeps shitting on them forever.

I guess I see your point now. In a lot of ways, its like the government charging sales tax on a used car you buy. Didn't someone already pay sales tax on that item when it was new? Ok, not the same thing, so I guess I'm off point a little.

Personally, I love it when Directv has games (like Packers, Badgers, etc) that regular TV doesn't have. Primarily because it reaffirms my choice of Directv.

It is also always nice to have something different than everyone else... kinda the same way people trick out their cars or whatever. Everyone wants something better or different than what everyone has.

But if everyone came to Directv, then I guess I wouldn't have anything different.

By the way, the NFL network didn't resell the games at a higher price. Personally, I am paying the same price for the game on the NFL network or local TV. All part of the basic package of programming.

I still think the cable companies are idiots. Look how long it took most of them to even add ESPN2 HD! Cable got it like 2 years after Directv had it.

COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT FUC$IN BETTER

This was a testing ground for the NFL to see how
customers would react, they found out they aren't
as BIG as they thought. WE, the consumer, WILL
NOT spend extra bucks to watch THEIR PRODUCT

I have directv and I am not spending extra for that channel, it was just added into my package, just like big ten and tennis and nhl channel free. The problem the nfl is having w/the cable stations are they want to make the channel an extra charge like hbo as the nfl network will not go along w/that charge passed onto the customers, so like i said fuk the cable companies, comcast is one of the biggest ripoffs in the country, u guys that have it have seen ur bill rise every fukkin year, and don't deny it.

I don't watch TV, the only time I turn it on is to
watch a football game, if I can't watch a game
on my TV for free, I don't watch it. **** PAY
FOR VIEW.

I watched it for free online, wasn't too bad.......

I'd like to see the NFL Network hire Pam Oliver to work with Bryan Gumble!!!! Now that would be pure excitement :com:

You guys act like DirectTv is free........

Nope, not free, but I found it to be cheaper than cable....

But the NFL Network - yes, it was free (and priceless last night). Same for the Big 10 network. Same for the 100 HD channels.

Directv - life is good :00hour
