I have to step in here and say that I am more than just a little bit surprised by Sponge's silence in the last 72 hours.
My only intention was to take Sponge up on his challenge to take on anyone in a football handicapping contest.
I have to believe that Bet Jamaica would be a suitable shop for this purpose and despite my earlier objections, I am ready to designate a MJ member to monitor my account for the upcoming season.
How about you, Sponge?

The silence has nothing to do with being frighten or scared or even terrified. Not sure what is the big rush to hammer this out when it is only July. Judge if you want we will play five games a week with the unit thing you suggested. 1 thru 5. College and pro football. Who ever has the most units wins. Now you help me on figuring out how to use lines for this, and where to post these games. All i ask is to be able to post my games any time i want as long as they are in before the games. I love the idea of the bet Jamaica deal but then nobody can see it which i never thought of. Now you tell me because the only sticking point i can see is where do we get the lines? I say it should end at the end of the regular season. Or how about end at the regular season and do just bowl games? What happens if the college ends before the NFL? Are you prepared to bet five NFL games? I will even let you bet all your games in CFB until the season is over as long as you give me the NBA and CBB. Ir not than its 3 out of five in one sport. If you have a problem with any of this then you list the contest and i will look it over. You tell your boy at bet Jamaica to not nickle and dime the contest and let me bet what i want on myself. We have all these intelligent guys backing you so this shouldn't be a problem for him.
Six i could print up any line i want that is why its "so hard". I could print up my bet sheet but the lines on it can be manipulated. Look im not saying Judge would do that but i have seen some rotten things done. Some guys call it great thinking. I call it snake oil salesman like tactics. I once saw a guy winning with three weeks to go and when the guy in second posted his plays the leader would post the same plays denying the guy the chance to ever catch him. To me this is under handed and to some they think its great. The site you have to pick 21 in a row some guys sit there just waiting for that site to post a mistake and then they pounce on it. When I called a few guys on that, and said its a cowards way of doing things, they said to bad and get over it. That is why it is "so hard" there is one thing i will not do is cheat but i am not gonna get cheated either. Again I'm not accusing Judged of doing that.

Judge, im a little confused here. You said fine with the unit contest but you are also still talking about the bet jamaca book bets being monitored. Why would i have to list any bets or care about any accounts if we are just gonna see who has the most units at the end of the contest to determine the winner which will be posted right here on the site?
Sponge, you are the one confusing me. You were dead set on having our accounts monitored from Day One so I called in a favor and got permission to set up secondary accounts for both of us at Bet Jamaica. At some point you finally came out of the fog and realized that in order for the forum to actually be able to see our plays, we would have to post them which is something that I have been saying all along. A forum contest should have every play posted for the overall good of the forum.
You made a big deal about fudging lines and such so I assumed that you would still want someone to be able to verify that the lines and amounts that we posted were the lines and amounts that we actually bet. I personally don't think that is such a bad idea because neither of us really knows the other. Scotty has agreed to accomodate us and unless you have a problem with the account monitoring, I suggest that we do it.
I read where you posted last Saturday that you had been drinking excessively last week and that certainly makes sense based on the numerous contradictions that you have made in this thread. Make up your mind whatever it is that you want to do with this contest and I will probably agree to it. I swear that this back and forth with you is about to drive me up the wall and I am beginning to wonder if I can stomach it for an entire football season.

Answer this question without your famous smart remarks okay? I said i backed off of the monitored contest because you were having a heart attack about this. I said i will go with the unit kind of contest. Now the question is if we do this monitored contest as well as the unit contest how do you determine a winner? What if we both had two grand to start in the accounts and you end up with 3000 and i end up with 2999 but i have 5 units and you have 4? To me I would think it has to be one way or the other. Not sure what the problem is i did all the bending In the beginning and then you started bending trying to make me look like the bad guy. That is already established on this site so you can save the remarks. My question again is it should be one or the other because they both could possible have different results. Drinking excessively lol that is a good one. If you can't understand what im talking about then make up a contest and i will read it. I recently read you have a wedding to go this weekend so i promise i won't write a post on you being silent like you are somehow scared.
Once again Sponge, I have never suggested, or even hinted that you even might be "scared" about anything having to do with any contest that we may or may not ever have.
I am continually amazed at how difficult it is for you to comprehend something as simple as a heads up contest. If your perception of my responses to your "challenge" is to somehow think that I am trying to make you out to be a "bad guy," then I do not even know how to respond to that.
With the exception of one post, I have been polite and fairly accomodating throught this abortion of a process yet you seem to prefer to be confused over something that should be incredibly easy.
Please take a moment to read your own question back to yourself aloud and tell me what the hell you are asking here:

- Determine sport(s)
- Determine amount of plays to be made
- Determine min/max allowed on each wager
- Start with equal amount of cash in Bet Jam accounts
- Post plays at Madjacks after you make them.
- Have a "No Fuk" clause in the rules, where as the first guy to post his play on a game gets sole ownership to that wager. The other player cannot make a wager either on or against the play you have posted.
This prevents shirt tailing to keep a lead, or "trying to catch up" unfairly.
- Guy with the most loot at the end of the contest is the winner.

yyz . Im a late wagerer and i won't care what Judge is betting. I will place my bet and then go to the board and if Judge bet the same game then what do i do? Buy the bet back?
Judge, i will say this again as simply as i can. You are basically making this two contest in one. Units or bankroll? Pick one or the other. We can't pick both because it can possibly end in kaos. Now i say forget about bet Jamaica. If this fellow wants to have odds on it than i will gladly fund an account there but we can't have it both ways.
