What did Trooper mean when he said "going North"?
A lot of games in Vegas have a max buyin usually $200 in the games Trooper plays in. So a new guy coming to the table can only have the $200 (max buyin) but players around the table may have been there for several hours and built a nice stack. Going north means adding to your stack when you didn't actually win those chips in that game. Most good players would rather be the big stack in the game rather than the small stack. They have a better chance of making a lot more money when they have more chips.
