whether or not some guy there could drink 50 (12oz) beers in a 24 hour period.

i think he weighed in the neighborhood of about 180 pounds.

i say NFW!

what do you guys think and does anybody here think they could pull it off?

light beer is permitted but no puking or spilling.

really? you da man. we have to party some time before it's too late!

that forum is here:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/ubbthreads.php?Cat=&C=5

a great forum for sure. even if you're not a poker player.

I like the forum, Jack. Every time anyone asks a poker question, the answer is "shove 'em"

Also, I said I've drank 50 beers twice, I would never do it again. Now, 12 beers tops and I'm gonna need most of the 24 hours. But, we do need to grab a beer together soon.

2 beers per hour X 24 hours + chug 2

In my deepest darkness days of alcoholism the very notion of someone handing me thousands of $$$$ just to show ya I could consume more beer than you ever thought humanly possible was merely another excuse to throwem' down..one after another after another after another after another..

give me 24 hours to show ya how an alcoholics level of tolerence can reach unmeasurable and mind boggling proportions..sure dude..and fire up a couple too.

hell..in the day we could have slept that off and then gone partying..

Sad but true...

could never come close to doing it w/ beer, but how does this compare??

back in the day (no, couldn't do this any longer, but could have if they let me drink while unloading planes ;) ) of softball tournaments when our team was usually (un)lucky enough to draw the first game of the morning, i would fill a super big gulp glass about half full of ice and then fill it to the top with 100 proof peppermint schnaaps. The glasses were 64 ounces, so no idea how the remainder filled would apply with the alcohol content of beer per OZ.

The rest of the team would draw a skull and crossbone on my cup lid so that no one would accidently pick it up for a sip... by afternoon it was gone, and i was still pitching and sweating it out.

edit: and oh yeah, back in those good ol' days (25 yrs. ago) i weighed 125-135 depending on the time of month ;)

While I have never done it keeping track of exactly how many beers in a 24 hour period... I would venture to guess I have accomplished this.
This was during that 18-22 yrs old, stationed overseas, phase - so all there was to to do was drink to be honest.

Its not so much the drunkenness you have to worry about with a challenge like this. Its two beers an hour - its a slow, steady grind. What you have to fear with this situation is the bloating you are going to experience. To accomplish this you need to be well hydrated before you start, and then you have to be ready to piss, piss, piss, and keep on pissing and get as much liquid out of your body as possible during the event.
This many beers, over this amount of time... you wont be fall down drunk. you are most likely going to drink yourself right back to "soberness" by the 14 hour mark.

now, another way to do it might be to just flat out pound as many beers as you possible can without puking... then pass out... sleep it off for 6-8 hours. wake up, repeat as necessary.

I made a bet with a guy this summer I could drink 54 in 24hrs. I never got the chance to get together with him to do it, but I really think I could do it without puking or spilling or pooring any out...

Last year at a football game my best friend and I drank 46 beers a piece from 10am-4am so I think I could pull off the extra 8 beers.

I only weigh 165lbs but then again I hardly ever puke no matter how much I drink, and I am physically able to carry myself. For instance, on my 21st I can't remember anything past 8pm but yet I never puked and was let into every bar.

I think it can be done...and I am willing to try it.

Probably the only way someone is drinking this many beers is adding drugs to the mix. You know something to keep you up when you get tired from pounding so many. It would still be difficult, but possible IMO. Having some extra weight would probably be a necessity as well.

If you have a friends partying a long with you the whole time makes the time go by easy... Weight would help, but as a small guy I really think I could pull this off...just have to be capable of holding down your alcohol, because the amount of liquid alone is a lot. The key to this really is just staying busy

I really want to try this... might have to do it soon, and keep MJers updated on my status... maybe pictures of my cans or something for evidence.

i was gonna add that in my post but i didn't. A little baggy of that stuff Raymond does could make the fifty go down a whole lot smoother.
