Back in High School my girlfreind had braces and she didn't work it enough before she decided to tickle the pickle.

Hit a liner down the right field line when i was 23 years old down in florida and snapped my hamstring. A big pop that the left fielder after the game said he heard it. End of season, lol

Pitching my first game in college i was hit by a line drive off my knee cap, (patella). I thought it was shattered, but the doctor told me it hit in the perfect spot and only severely bruised. Pitching two weeks later.:popcorn2

ARROW

torn hamstring(twice)....partial quad tendon tear....and 2 niced sized holes in my retina that are still there after decades and have basically turned me into a cyclops....

no broken bones,though...

actually been very lucky considering... ...

actually the ligaments were fine from that injury, that was just a sprain.

I think this past spring would have been the 10 year anniversary of that championship. Was there a reunion that I missed?

2001 was the championship game loss on 9/10/11 setting up for a morning flight to little rock the next day. 2002 was the season of destiny.

I have had a traumatic bran injury.

Subdural hematomas are usually the result of a serious head injury. When one occurs in this way, it is called an "acute" subdural hematoma. Acute subdural hematomas are among the deadliest of all head injuries. The bleeding fills the brain area very rapidly, compressing brain tissue. This often results in brain injury and may lead to death.

They didn't even reattach my ear for some time because it was on the low priority list.

The scary part is one of my dad's friend saw me speeding and turned his car around to give me a good talking to. I fell asleep right as he caught up to me and said I was doing 70 when I hit an embankment and shot out of the driver side door like a cannon. The only problem was the steel door frame connected with the side of face, slicing it off along with my ear.

I landed face down in a ditch in a foot of water unconscious. The man came over and turned me over or I would have drowned.

Anyways, I'm lucky. I couldn't speak correctly several months and lived in my parents living room.

One day I just snapped out of it. From not being able to tie shoes to everything being normal...
I think this contributes to my extreme risk behavior.

So brain surgery and plastic surgery for me.

I went head over heels while riding a 4 wheel ATV when I was 16; broke my collarbone, 2 ribs and punctured my left lung; broke my left leg and ankle the next summer playing Colt League baseball; and broke my right leg skiing.

Got hit square in the face with a Goalie stick while skating by visitors bench by a mad goaltender the day before my 13th birthday. Fractured skull in two places, broken mandible in 3, compound fracture of maxilla in 2, both eye orbitals shattered and left buccal bone now held together by plates, lost 9 teeth, nose obviously broken, nasal meatus and sinuses on left side had buccal bone driven through so now fused. Thirteen surgeries, two brain, 7 reconstructive and 4 plastic within the first week, and jaw wired shut for 13 weeks (I know right) I am making up for it now. Ultimately developed a staph infection which caused sepsis and collapsed lung during recovery which led to a chest tube and two broken ribs and numerous more surgeries. I am still paying for it today. Parents spent close to three years in court trying to recover their losses. Ultimately led to the institution of face masks in youth hockey in the Chicago Catholic School system.

Where do I start and which injury was the worst?

I could write a book...:142smilie

Age 4...late 50's at a summer playground basically in our backyard (supposed to be 5 to attend), I get dinged in the forehead walking through a horse shoe game! Ringer! Big old heavy Clydesdale style shoes. Any body theen my baseball?

Freshman year Christmas break...Folks in FL vacationing...after some b-ball at the HS, walk home, slip on ice from a gutter drip in the day...tibia, fibula and ankle busted bad. Made matters worse, in shock, I walked on my right leg trying to convince my self I was...OK. Spent a week in the hospital and 5 months in a full leg cast...hip to toe, crutches.

School year was '72-'73 and the nickname 'Bones' began.

Broke well over 30 bones since...most on the right side of my body...just bad accidents and once, a body slam on a brick sidewalk. It was my body, almost 20 years ago, still have a screw in my right shoulder. Right handed, had to learn how to wipe my ass left handed...try it sometime!:142smilie

One terrible car accident, 6 of us in the car, I was a passenger in the right rear seat. All six of us were ejected out of a 2 door Chevy (early '70's model) 5 on one side of the Highway and one on the other. Two young ladies spent 30 days each in the hospital, the rest of us were released that night/morning.

:142smilie The list goes on...:142smilie
