I like the idea as well, it would be probably lead to lower scores at first but think it would in turn lead to higher scoring as hitters wouldn't have to worry about shit on the corners being called.Some umps have a huge strike zone.The biggest adjustment at first seems to be the high and low of the zone.Umps wouldn't lose their jobs at the plate but their control of the game,the way it should be,some of these guys(umps) totally make it more about themselves it seems.One reason I can't stand football with all the bullshit rules they have and then make a play dead by blowing the whistle,they could call a hold on every play and now a DB cant touch a receiver and then the receiver can jump into the DB and get a pass interference call,football has become such a joke in the NFL.
read an article the other day saying the best umpire is wrong 10% of the time..why have a margin for error when it can be 100% correct..only those who never played at a high level would think home plate umpires MUST call balls and strikes..pure arrogance!!
