In 1995 I was driving through San Antonio and I remember hearing a radio ad that one of the gas places would set the gas price based on the high temperature from the day before. So it ranged from $0.98 to $1.12 that summer

but they were sad times in our country. Our friends were being killed..

a change was coming but as teens we had no idea at the time our generation would alter space and time..

1965 the war in Vietnam continues to worsen as whatever the Americans do including major bombing of North Vietnam they continue to lose more men , at the same time the Anti-War movement grows and in November35,000 march on Washington as a protest against the war. There is also civil unrest with rioting, looting and arson in Los Angeles. This was also the first year mandated health warnings appeared on cigarette packets and smoking became a no no. The latest craze in kids toys was the Super Ball and The Skate Board. Fashions also changed as women's skirts got shorter men's hair grew longer as the The miniskirt makes its appearance. Hypertext is introduced for linking on the Internet. The St Louis Arch is completed and The Beatles release 4 new albums including "Help".

I remember going on a date and spending $10.00 which covered two burgers and fries, a large A&W float, and movie at the drive in.....with snacks.

for those of us who started singing and huntin' the tube..

I was a little too tall, could've used a few pounds.
Tight pants points hardly reknown.
She was a black-haired beauty with big dark eyes,
And points all her own sittin' way up high.
Way up firm and high.

Out past the cornfields where the woods got heavy,
Out in the back seat of my '60 chevy.
Workin' on mysteries without any clues,
Workin' on our night moves.
Tryin' to make some front page drive-in news,
Workin' on our night moves.
In the summertime, mmm-mmm.
In the sweet summertime.

We weren't in love, oh, no, far from it.
We weren't searchin' for some pie-in-the-sky summit.
We were just young and restless and bored,
Livin' by the sword.
And we'd steal away every chance we could.
To the backroom, to the alley or the trusty woods.
I used her, she used me, but neither one cared.
We were gettin' our share.

Workin' on our night moves,
Tryin' to lose the awkward teenage blues.
Workin' on our night moves, mmm-mmmm.
And it was summertime, mmm-mmm.
Sweet, summertime, summertime.

Oh-ohh, the wonder.
Felt the lightnin',
Yeah, and waited on the thunder.

I woke last night to the sound of thunder,
"How far off," I sat and wondered.
Started hummin' a song from 1962{1}.
Ain't it funny how the night moves,
When you just don't seem to have as much to lose.
Strange how the night moves, with autumn closin' in.

Mmm-mmm mmm-mmm. Night moves. Mmm-mmm.
(Night moves.) Night moves.
(Night moves.) Yeah.
(Night moves.) Movin'.
(Night moves.) Aw, I sure remember the night moves.
(Night moves.) Ain't it funny how you remember?
(Night moves.) Funny how you remember.
(Night moves.)
I remember, I remember, I remember, I remember.
(Night moves.) Oh-oh oh-oh, whoa.
(Night moves.) Oooo, Workin'.
Workin' and practicin'.
(Night moves.) Workin' and practicin'.
(Night moves.) All of the night moves.
Night moves.
(Night moves.) Oh, I remember.
(Night moves.) Yeah, yeah,
(Night moves.) Oooo, I remember.
Lord, I remember. Lord, I remember.
(Night moves.) How, hnnnnh, Oooo-ooo.
Oh, yeah-ee-yeah, yeah, yeah.
Un hunh. Un hunh.
I remember, I remember.

Remember how everyone would yell "SHOTGUN" and no one would dare to ride in the backseat by themselves? Now you can't even sit 3 across in front seats unless you have certain pick up trucks. LOL No wonder DRIVE-INS closed.:sadwave: You can't make out in front seats anymore. :scared

YEAH, I WOULDN'T SUGGEST IT NOW. UNLESS YOUR CAR BROKE DOWN OR YOU RAN OUT OF GAS, YOU HAVE TO BE PRETTY FAR DOWN ON THE "FOOD" CHAIN NOT TO HAVE SOME FORM OF TRANSPORTATION OR JUST STAY WHERE YOU ARE AT

Socialization.

This is going to be even tougher for the kids growing up now. I'm 30, but growing up, you maybe picked up the telephone to call your friend, but usually you just rode your bike to his house. If you made plans that weren't so concrete, and you were out, this was tough, as you probably needed a pay phone.

Now, it's instant gratification. Don't know if it's good or bad. Time will tell, as we will see how socially awkward we come as a collective group. Don't get me wrong, the convenience is great, but it's as if these kids don't know anything but txting, and cell phones...

Then again, it is kind of cool to basically get ahold of anyone anytime you want if necessary, or if not necessary...or if you just want to tell the man how bad his football team sucks...

What do you think the consequence would be if global cell phone communication were disrupted long term?
