i'll preface this by saying, i'm hardly here, though when i am, have seen, very little of ... a discussion amongst members regarding games, sides, opinions AT ALL. There is an ongoing discuss about Pats V Chargers, but past that.. liek zilch (bp has been following min).
there was a matchup forum awhile back, where this one fella, jus dropped huge amounts of all things realting to that game. Each orig post was titled that games matchup (ie. New England at San Diego) I mean, any lil thing from a roster change, to illness, to off field action, to weather, he was on it. Now--is that the stuff, i'm looking for? Not exactly, as i hardly ever used those pages to help me in making my selections. As it were, this main forum was more of a happening place to find guys hashing out the correct sides of most any game -or so it seemed. maybe i'm remembering wrong.
all i'm saying, with the traffic thats on this site, one would think everyones gearing up for a fri night game between NE and SD with no games on the weekend. I'm not a great contributor either... and to be entirely forthcoming, some of this week's matchups look like head scratchers.... which is why i'm here, looking for -insight, input, opinions....
please, let me be clear...i'm not looking for anyone to make my decisions for me, jus provide alternate takes on, perspectives... things to think about re: that game -and process on my own to come up with side etc.
mostly what i see is people running off their picks with record keeping and all that... but aside from a select few, that amounts pretty much to breaking even. and hey, thats fine if you're trying to keep track of your record, selections etc. people appreciate that--and i'm not trying to discourage it. and, i know, not everyone is great, or has time for writeups -thats cool, i understand this.
i dunno,....
i distinctly remember a poster, not his name, but the fact was a syracuse (i know is CFB, but using as an example) kid -either attending, or jus closely following- and he was great with his take on that week's upcoming 'cuse matchup -(more from a bettor's perspective than homer). i guess i kinda see the same in bleeding purples weekly vikings discuss...which is what i guess was expecting (more of). i mean, i know everyone has their lives, jobs, kids etc,, etc.... and who wants to make one of their remaining outlets for fun, into work i don't ..and i think you know thats not what i'm suggesting. (i mean, if you ended up winning $$$ that week, on a regular basis--would easily be fun, yeah?). despite the differences between everyone up in here (which is actually a welcomed trait, so to have differing perspectives) i jus figured there'd be a lot more back and forth... discussion.
i'm no great shakes on my own. my post tally speaks to how much i should not try and come accross as a hypocrite here... though, to be clear... not trying to rustle any feathers...jus wonderin where all the action is?
i would figure amongst the group of semi educated fellas up in here, we'd be able to--as a group, pull together on at least a handful of games each week to hone in on. better than the desired tune of the accepted 65% that most people consider a "winning" number.
i know, i saw mj goin off... asking everyone on their best plays threads (both 1st, ml -and even someone else chimed in, for fun, sure, but theres definitely more to it there on peep's 2nd best) both in college and pros... i dunno if tallying a total of sides there, like the posts that senor capper has porvided in his hilton following would be a start... i'm jus... taken at how this board isnt utilized more like i think could be--for benefit of everyone. thats me. maybe i'm off base. maybe its the weather changing... maybe everyone if hunkering down with holidays coming up... maybe i jus read at wrong times...
i dunno...
