Property tax is a state issue. I am a libertarian on social issues. Agree on weed, disagree on marriage. Lower corporate taxes is ok if you close the loopholes to allow them to go offshore. Strongly disagree on a flat tax rate. You might think it's fair on the surface but it really isn't. The wealthy have a advantage with the capitol gains tax and the ability to move their money into real estate with lower property tax rates and/or places were values increase at a greater rate. A higher inheritence tax rate. Having a low inheritence tax rate goes against the concept of a merit society. Wish sales taxes were much lower but that also is a state by state issue. I would eliminate the sales tax at $1000 and below.
JT, I am glad we can have a civil conversation about politics. I am for lower taxes all around, I strongly disagree on inheritance tax, I think that should be zero, thats my opinion. I am fine with a higher tax rate as you make more money just not 39.6% as highest bracket, why not 25% instead?
My problem with zero to low inheritence tax is the creation of aristocracy in this country like the Waltons who are lucky just to be born to Sam. Raising it to a degree will not make them paupers and if I remember correctly Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine argued for it due to these reasons. I could go from 40% to 30%. However, I feel the social security cap should be lifted.

I was actually trying to have a little fun and make a joke but oh well. It was a reference to the story going around that Bernie would get a nomination at the DNC, not a big deal. I'm confident I've been very clear who I was voting for in this election.

On a happier note for one, at least GJN can fingerbang herself to sleep tonight thinking she got me a good one that time.
