We are going to break 32 on Sunday but I am going early Sunday before game. Its been - 2 here past 2 nights, I'm execting 5 inches of ice by then.

I really hope they released that fish

I bet that they released it. I heard that Sunday it could rain here and 40. Not sure how warm it'll be were I fish. I'll be up there next week but I'm too much of a baby to go out there this soon.

See if this works..

And I thought normal fishing was fun.

Ice fishing kicks ass, I prefer the warm weather but if you can stay warm ice fishing it really does kick ass. You don't need to bring a cooler for the beer either. When you are fishing in the boat you can usually tell what you have by the way it fights or see it jump in the water etc, ice fishing and you never know what you got until it gets to the hole. Ice is usually never that thin to see exactly what is coming at you like that one. Early ice or late ice, plus the fish doesn't really realize all that is going on until it sees hole then it gives you a fight. People from this site on FB have seen me all decked out in my ice fishing Viking Garb holding some nice fish. Might as well do something in this freezing bastard

People give me a hard time here in Texas, because when it gets "cold" 20-40 degrees, people's first thought is to stay in by the fire. Mine is to get my stuff and head to the field.

If I could fish on a frozen lake.. That gets my blood pumping. I'd be all over that in a second.

If I saw a fish swimming under my feet that was bigger than the hole, I might explode

No doubt, ice here is 3-5 inches so in a clear lake you can see them as they come

Between The Hedges
Would love to do an Ice Fishing trip. Are there any outfits with stocked lakes for such a trip? Any of you ever used one? How far south(from a state standpoint) do said outfits reach? From the looks of it you can drink, stay warm, cook, and watch tv while you fish........Awesome combo there:00hour

i do not know how far south they go for like a guided fishing trip, they do have them up North here next to Canada. Lake of the Woods etc. I have never used one, have had several buddies do it and it's hit or miss but you do stay warm doing it, having a good ole time.
