Mocking the unfortunate seems to always put a smile on your face.

It was funny.

Plus, the guy is fortunate.

Go ahead and pull up that old, blind girl thread, I was looking for it the other day.

Why would it have bankrupted him? I've been in the health insurance racket for 30 years. I don't understand your statement. There's not really any difference how coverage works before or after Obamacare went into effect. Please explain.

Maybe he didn't have insurance before?

I am very fortunate you have no idea :0008

This guy getting surgery has nothing to do with Obamacare, like the boys said nothing has changed

I'm sorry. I don't think you read the first part of the first post. If it wasn't for Obamacare, he would have had to pay 100k+.

Because of Obamacare, the government paid for it.

Sitting in the hospital right now soon to have major lung surgery. Most of the cost will be covered by the insurance company due to the ACA (affordable care act) granting me the ability to stay on my parents health care plan until I'm 26. I'm unemployed and the surgery I'm about to have is a result of a non preventable pre-existing medical condition. There is likely no way any company would have previously insured me before the new ACA regulations. Obamacare isn't perfect (we can all still dream for single payer) but without it right now I'd likely be broke and have placed significant financial difficulties on my parents due to circumstances entirely outside our control. So thanks to you Obama! (No seriously, thanks.)
To opponents of Obamacare: Anyone who calls for the complete dismantling of the program is just placing the American people back at the whims of the insurance companies who couldn't give a single fuck about your well being. I've yet to hear any Republicans discuss an alternative to the ACA that would prevent this.

Its not like he couldn't have had surgery before Obamacare, why should the government pay for anyone to have surgery?
