How in the hell did La Tech (9-3) and MTSU (8-4) not make a bowl??? GT should've ended at 6-6 but ended up 6-7 and they make a bowl over these 2 and LOST to MTSU at home. LT's 3 losses were to 3 ranked opponents... There is no way they should've been left out of a bowl

AND they played a close game with A&M..This bowl system is a flat out joke...

I just read an article about it... They were waiting on other bowls to see if they would get in... NIU somehow making a BCS game ended up hurting them... Also Dykes interviewed with Cal and they were waiting to see if he would end up staying or not

They did ask the independence bowl if they could wait a lil bit longer so they could see if a better bowl comes along...Any way i look at this they belong somewhere...7-5 USC vs 6-7 G. tech....I'm jacked about that UGH

Both teams made some effort this season.

But, I gotta check into that 45-0 shellacking in the MTSU/Arkie State game yesterday that costed me a teaser and a parlay. You'd think they played against the Sooners with Arkie St. jerseys on.

Georgia Tech (6-7) made it in a bowl...

And

N. Illinois is in a BCS game... yes a MAC team is in a BCS game :facepalm:

They didn't create the system. But they are not as good as the Utah, Boise St, or TCU teams that made it to a BCS Bowl.

This entire thing is business and politics. NCAA, the BCS and right down the food chain. Much of this is all back room deals. EVERY year we have games and situations that don't pass the eye test (ie. common sense).

Personally, I don't watch every bowl game. You want to raise a stink. Contact the sponsors of the bowl and the advertisers during the game. No one here can do squat about it.

I know: it's just a vent thread !

Good luck with your picks thru bowl season, boys

In Corley's world (and every SEC fan's, seemingly) the top 12 SEC teams would fill all the BCS spots, Kentucky would play Mizzou in the next most important bowl "because ANY SEC team would win ANY other conference," and the rest of college football would merge into a new 108 team Sun Belt Conference and knock skulls to go to the Poulan Weedeater Independence Bowl.

C'mon, that's fairly accurate, right?
