I dont know why i feel inclined to say this but i will. First i want to say that this is by far and away the best handcapping forum on the net. The combination of minds, angles, systems, and cappers here blows me away sometimes. We are truly lucky and thanks you Madjack and staff. Do any else of you feel that there are a decent number of members here that provide absolutely zilch to this site in a handicapping manner? I am not going to name any names, but i see this increasing. Some people here call people out, harrass after a bad pick or losing night, when themselves dont do shiit for this site in a handicapping manner. These people get 0 respect from me. I mean there are some that have between 10-3000 posts here, yet they dont provide anything to help this site for what it is here for...HANDICAPPING. They hang around the GD forum and tell their views about politics or law just for an example. Then you have the ones that coatail some members and say thank you or good luck. I mean come on, sack up and do some work yourself. I may be totally of base here by posting this, it is how i feel. Just curious if any of you agree or disagree with my notion?

Wareagle,

For the most part, a veteran, battle-scarred handicapper will not bash. He has the experience of seeing too many of his carefully, thought out picks simply get blown out of the water far too many times. He has been humbled too many times to bash someone else for ending up on the wrong side.

I think the veterans in this forum spend more time trying to encourage rather than criticize.

When bashing does appear, Jack won't let it get out of hand.

That's one of the things which makes Madjacks different.

While I do think the amount of bashing seems to have increased - Jack/admin have been very good with locking up those threads as soon as possible. I think Buddy is right on - the those that bash are just showing that they are novices when it comes to capping. Even the best of us lose well over 40% of the time.

As for the guys that just hang out in general, maybe I am nieve but I assumed that they either don't bet on the same sports (rare for me to visit anything but the NCAA Football and NCAA Hoops board) as I do or they taking a break from capping. If it is the latter, does that really matter? When someone is talking about politics I listen to them because they have something meaningful to say, not because they like UCONN -1.5 this weekend.

Just my 2 cents.

Wareagle,

I'm not sure I really get the jist of your post. First you say that the angles, systems and cappers here blow you away and then you whine about (i'm not sure exactly).

The people that don't post much in the sports forums bother you.

The people that post a lot in the sports forums and like to show their thanks for anothers pick bother you.

The people that say 'good luck' bother you.

I'm trying to figure out who would be left to post here if everybody that bothered you left the site.

While reading that highroller is on the Dolphins or ScottUsc is on the Trojans is quite compelling, I find that more interesting material is generally posted in the GD.

Just because people post their views in GD on various topics doesn't mean that they aren't 'sacking up' or they aren't 'doing their own work'. Not sure how you made that leap.

Keep posting the way you choose to and everybody else will do the same, and try not to let everything bother you so much.

Kosar the first part of my post was a compliment to Jack and all the good cappers here.

I am saying the people that dont ever provide anything for HANDICAPPING purposes. I myself love the GD area. My sacking comment is for the people who dont provide anything but GL and TYs to the forums. There are plenty. I love to wish GL to fellow jackers, so it doesn't bother me at all. I think you missed my point and your bother rhetoric is cute.

Bobby I am leaving geneva in three weeks to start moving east. First stop is vietnam for three days, Bangledesh four days, Bangkok three days, and India for six days. Then moving to Hong Kong till the new year.

I work for you guys and will do anything to make this a better place for all of us. Post your suggestions and I'll see what I can do to make this a better forum than ever before. I'm about ready to clean house anyway because there is a lot of shit going on that I don't like either.

Keep it positive :)

I completely understand getting rid of Bashers and sh1t talkers.

But for posting in the GD forum and wishing people luck:shrug:

I thought that was what the GD was for? To talk about politics/world events etc....

i can see where wareagle is coming from in a way, even though i could be one of those 3000 posters who doesn't provide anything. i think its not just that they do anything, but all they do isbash people or say stupid stuff that doesn't make any sense at all. for wishing people 'good luck' or 'nice call' that doesn't bother me at all, but i think its the people who put like 50star plays or GOY and crap like that. its gets so old. i know this site is mostly for gambling and sports, but that has to go, in my opinion at least. i'll admit im not the greatest gambler in the world and i have basically dropped doing sports for a bit to concentrate on horse racing, but still this is a nice site for people to at least have the right to visit and express whatever they want. i guess in a way its a no win situation. maybe there should just be a 'serious hancicapping forum' for those only selected by members that have been here the longest or madjack himself....

Yea, I admit, I dont post games or picks here, Mainly because I dont feel like taking aggrevation, I have enough aggrevation in my life with other things. Im not thin skinned, Im not even a great capper, so i just follow along and track certain people, and occasionally post some info now and then and I love the GD forum to ask advice with things I dont know about, ie moving and other topics, everybody doesnt know everything so it's good in that respect to gain knowledge. I find it absolutely disguisting and sad that some a$$holes with 5-10 posts just chime in and make sarcastic comments or bash good posters who work hard and win, It's pretty sad, and it's driven some away, thank god the good and honest guys like hellah, gman, fletcher, etc, just can handle it and ignore the bs and continue to help people and give good info, Thats what this is all about, should be about nothing else besides winning money, it's not about being a "better" handicapper than someone else, it's about beating the god damn book, and that is IT

What you are talking about goes on everywhere in these forums.

I actually think the GDF is the best part of Madjacks.

I currently post in one other forum. I have more of a personal feel there when it comes to the games. I will post my thoughts on games here at times. Usually, I'll just copy what I said down the road if I feel good about a play. I don't like to forum jump or become some forum whore (LOL). I have posted in a couple of other gambling forums in the past, but have since abandoned them.

I know many are big on people posting records and such. I'm not myself. I would rather see what someone else's take is on a game. Whatever the reason. Why are they putting their money on something? I really like writeups. You don't have to try and convince anyone of anything. Just be open on your opinion. It takes a little more for some people to expose themselves in that fashion. The whole secretive thing with gamblers I find annoying. I want to win and it's beyond ego for me. What can one lose? We are sitting a million miles apart looking at a keyboard and screens. Records could be fudged, opinions on that night's game is right in front of you.

Teach a man how to fish;)

I like the writeups of Gman, Box, KOD, CG, and others. (why is Gman so hated on the net???)

Take the good things from this forum. Pass on the clutter. Let Jack handle the rest.:D

This is starting to be a trend and I am worried about it, but I couldn't agree more with Kosar!
