Obama is truly a political fool. He did not consider the effect that his comments would have on the support from the police union and all of the police officers across the US that he called racist and stupid. I wonder how many cops, their friends and family are sitting in their homes and squad cars fuming over this comment?

Obama will continue to show his stupid black core every time he speaks without his teleprompter. His popularity is falling daily as his actions reveal the angry negro within.

It's turning out that it was Obama who acted stupidly, by bringing this local matter onto the national stage. :mj07: He's a true jackass

BO the savior injects himself where his opinion and his power do not belong. He's the fricken president of the United States and should know better than to open himself up to undue criticism. He's also doing a great job of giving ammunition to his critics and all the people who were scared of his race, religion, name, etc. I can't figure if he is that naive or if he is being smart like a fox. His popularity is defintely taking a dive and stuff like this isn't going to help.

It isn't a crime to be a loudmouthed, jerkoff racist. Nor is it a crime to be an asshole.

If being a loudmouthed jerkoff racist WAS illegal... well the rest of this comment writes itself.

What are you talking about??
Yes it is illegal to be a loudmouthed jerk in public and I think Gary Coleman would agree with me.

The Incident

This latest incident occurred in Provo, Utah, after witnesses noticed Coleman arguing with a woman. Police responded to a call and arrived on the scene to assess the situation. According to Captain Cliff Argyle, "Mr. Coleman was very excited and loud...At one point, he exited his vehicle, waving his arms, yelling and screaming." Coleman was cooperative for the police, but was issued a citation, which could result in a $750 fine and as much as three months in jail.

I vote that he is more smart like a fox. He knows politics better than any of us yet he makes that statement. Also, why was the question even asked? The reporter was a plant. O knew what the reaction would be.
I live a few towns away from Cambridge. The Peoples Republic of Cambridge we call it. We are one of the most liberal states and Cambridge is one of the most liberal cities within the state.
Not sure if it has been mentioned but a black officer was also at the scene.
Gates should be thanking the police for trying to protect his house. That is on Harvard property, by the way, and he doesn't pay taxes on.

Still interesting--sure is a lot of ass kissing-phone calls etc since yesterday--wonder if we'll ever hear the tapes?

Don't believe throwing Gates under the bus with the rest- will get O out of this--the damage is done.

Trivia for today
What did O say his fav book was- before he entered politics?

Doesn't take much for you to reveal your angry racist core, does it?

This is just red meat for the birth certificate crowd Stevie and Obama needs to learn how not to fall in these type of traps. Now it is 24/7 on all neo-con news stations when healthcare was the topic. What the hell did that question have to do with healthcare? Who gives a shit about two people in an alleged breakin that happens every five seconds in this country? Obama should have known better. He is starting to fall for this silly shit like that jackass Kerry. He should know the Republicans are self centered and couldn't give two shits about the country or their fellow man. They enjoy stuff like this so it clouds the real issues. The issues that are so fuked up because of them.

WOW ! That's a blanket statement

WOW ! That's a blanket statement

A bigot is a person who is obstinately and irrationally, often intolerantly, devoted to his or her own religion, political party, organization, belief, or opinion, especially one who regards or treats those of differing devotion with hatred and intolerance. Bigotry is the corresponding mindset or action.

There are lots of this kind on this site. Most of them are unaware of it, though.

Plenty to comment on here, I'll just start with this: Hedgehog, have you heard the tapes, have read any first hand comments of any substance? I know who you think is to blame, for many reasons, although it's tough for you to decide which one of the two black men is more to blame.

I have a guess as to what happened. I'm guessing my guess is more balanced than yours, but that's just a guess. I'm guessing Gates is more to blame here than the police are. But I'm also guessing that you are completely full of shit in jumping to conclusions because you are hopeful things are what you ASSume they are to be in this case. Go ahead and link me to what you base your opinions on, other than what you figured out "on your own." Or not - doesn't matter, really, just curious, since you seem to be so solid in your opinion here.

Chad - I love ya and you know it. But I think there was some other guy, a high up politician to be sure, that made a few statements that weren't based on facts. Something about "stupidly."

One other point I think should be made here. Half of the people here and elsewhere are pretty sure Gates was unruly and pissed off about his treatment and what went on in his house. I read countless links here from a few that are totally concerned and focused on what happens in your own house and on your own property, and wanting to make sure you can arm and protect yourself from the government and hostile takeover. I have a hunch that if this wasn't a black professor from Harvard, and he was a white business owner from say, Texas, then your opinion about who was wronged here would be completely different. And I know that's more true than anyone not agreeing with me will admit.

Ferd - I agree with this take. I think Obama should have stayed out of this to the extent he went into it. I have a great deal of respect for police and what they go through, my wife handles the prosecution work for our city, and deals with them every day, and I count most of the officers and leaders as my friends. In most cases, in most areas, I lean to police accounts of what happens in these situations. I also think there is a "bluster" factor going on with Gates, who probably went too far with his antics. But there is a level of hypocrisy here, from some, as far as what goes on in a person's home, and I wonder why we aren't hearing anything about the neighbor that called this in. Kind of an undetermined situation that I can only wonder about. The neighbor had no idea who was going into the house? Couldn't check it out from afar (car, person, etc.) before calling in an emergency call? I don't know, that's just a little odd to me.

I think there are a lot of people, to your point, that are weighing in on this situation that really don't know crap about the specifics of the situation. Including Obama - I think you are correct.

I read Gates hadn't been there in months. For all we know, the neighbor may not have known him:shrug: My guess is that had Gates pulled out his ID when asked, this would have been avoided.

As for Obama, he was clearly out line in his comment. Unless he was there, he had no right to call the officer's actions stupid. I lost a little more respect for Obama on this one.

The Nutty Professor is to blame, Obama should keep his mouth shut when asked about something that he knows nothing about. Obama is a racist. He is a divider not a uniter. The police are correct no doubt in my mind, all the jackass Professor had to do was prove who he was and the whole thing would not have been avoided. Obama's true colors are starting to shine through. Obama is a madman and our rights as WHITE people are being eroded one day at a time.

Cie, I think even Obama agrees with you about his comments and response. The thing I find refreshing about that, is that it is so different and gives him a lot more respect in my eyes. It's refreshing to me that a President can admit making a mistake and deal with situations, instead of dismissing and arguing with people and never admitting any responsibility.

I think your assessment is pretty much right, although I don't think any of us really know what went on in that house. And the fact it went on in his house does matter, in some ways. And until we do know what happened, we're all just guessing, and some are just putting up their prejudices about the people and situation.
