I'm not reading through all this crap. It's very simple. What the fuck do we have referees for? If they had told him about the penalty, and he then refused to correct his scorecard and signed an incorrect score I could see the DQ. But this is complete BS. As for integrity, he obviously did not think he was violating any rule or he would have kept his mouth shut. Its total BS.

To be fair there are plenty of respected writers who think Tiger is doing the right thing by NOT withdrawing.

This is directly from Boswell's column. The link is above.

As Woods played the fourth hole on Saturday, Don Fishel, a fan from Columbus, Ohio, was asked his opinion of the complex, consuming controversy. Fishel apologized for not having a flashy, reporter-friendly opinion. ?It just seems like Tiger made an honest mistake,? he said.

Moments later, Woods missed an eight-foot putt and bogeyed the fourth hole. ?Ohhhh, Tiger,? moaned a fan, commiserating with Woods.

Nearby, a white-haired man said, preaching to the crowd, ?God?s got his eyes out for people who act like he does and play like he does.?

?There?s your [other] opinion,? Fishel said.

Hey doggie. I see you made it to the course this weekend.

As far as the Masters catering to CBS or Tiger Woods, that is laughable.

Cbs doesn't tell the Masters how it's gonna be, the Masters tells Cbs what's going to happen or they can get the fvck out. Why do you think they only give out 1 year contracts? (And Cbs is DAMN glad to get that one year contract)

And as someone said on tv yesterday, the Masters turned away tv sponsors, and millions of dollars in revenue FOR 2 YEARS during the Burke deal, do you really think they GAF if Tiger plays or not??? Their whole premise is that Augusta is above any one patron (if you run or even so much as flash a cell phone you're ejected), player, announcer (McCord), network etc, and if you don't like it, there's the gate.

I do think the Masters powers that be screwed up the ruling, or at least the procedure, but I'd bet they didn't care 2 shits what Tiger or Cbs thought of the result.

It's always a pleasure to see you too.

i honestly don`t dislike you,t.u...i hope that one day(after you`ve matured a bit) that you`ll realize that the race card you constantly hold up to disparage others` motives is actually a mirror.....

excellent, respectful argument gents...i get the integrity issue and and i also understand that woods did nothing intentionally wrong and that the penalty seemed sort of appropriate from here...

good stuff...

/non-avid golfer kind of on the fence...

I will hold the race card up every time I feel that is appropriate. Sorry you aren't amused. Sometimes tough love is something that is necessary. I know you are old and don't like change like others but it is something you need to embrace. Perhaps after you mature a bit more.

I would concur.

The debate is more personal than professional for many, and those many will never admit it. Tiger is hated by the media and others for his actions in his personal life or how he remained unaccessible for years and the media is scorned by this. Plain and simple many will not let it go.

This argument will turn into a racial and political argument soon. In some cases it already has by those saying that CBS or Masters was worried about ratings. While Tiger may draw more viewers many will still watch.

The rules of golf need retooled to make them easier to interpret. He should have policed himself and DQ'd himself. All horseshit. Read the rule book and then throw it in your bag for extra asswipe while on the course. If you ever have to refer to it, I am sure it may take you more than 15 minutes. When you can't figure the correct ruling out, be sure to penalize yourself for slow play. Get back in the cart and head to 19th hole to down some drinks since you need to DQ yourself.

He was given a penalty. It is not like he gained an unfair advantage. He paid the price which may be a Green Jacket in the end, all because of an unfortunate event.

The committee ruled and that should be the end of story. Many though will never let it go and if by some miracle the field collapses today and he wins this story will go to DEFCON 5.

I hope he does. Nothing better than some controversy to an otherwise boring sport for many.

Come on Eldrick pound some of that Vonn Beaver for goodluck!

Defcon 5 is peace. You mean defcon 1. Thanks to Wargames. :). Lets just hope we don't have to consult the WOPR.

questioning or making an argument against the decision is "racist" because woods is part black?...if so,what was the reason for similar disputes in all the other excellent examples provided?

you don`t even realize what a disservice you do to real manifestations of racism when you resort to your nebulous accusations against fellow posters because you can`t form a cogent argument.....

i totally understood your post(as most here always do)...

Does any Thread in this forum stay on topic anymore?

BTW Sonic the hedgehog just posted he saw the movie 42. Others can go and trash that thread. I am sure it will be an instant classic in about 3,2,1.

not sure i have the money to provide enough gasoline to power my rofl-copter to properly express how stupid that statement is.....

we had an excellent discussion going here regarding "rules of the game" and as usual,t.u. started disparaging someone`s motives as racist....turning the discussion into a blackhole of suckitude....

anything else?,
