Hi Jack,

My house is small. I'm looking to re-tile a hallway and the adjoining bathroom. I'm also going to change the kitchen from linoleum to tile. So, quite a small job.

Kelly, I know a guy here in the Dallas area that does tile. He does it for pretty cheap. He just finished renovating a home in Highland Village last week so I know he's not doing anything right now. Let me know if you want him to give you a price.

Kelly,

I agree with others on here. Why no response to this offer?

It's pretty obvious she is afraid the guy will tell Layinwood what she really looks like, and he will come tell the forum.

Ha ha, that's funny. I'm a slow mover. I actually WOULD like to get his number....thanks for the offer.

I just move at kind of a slow pace, so I know I will have to go look at all the tile, etc...it's not like it's gonig to happen overnight, especially with the holidays.

I've got a question on the subject. I've got linoleum in my kitchen and it was brand new, but after about 2 years it is really beginning to look like shit. Do you folks think it would be good for me to redo the kitchen with tile? What kind of tile should I use (I know they could probably lead me in the right direction in home depot or lowes). Is it hard? It was real easy to me to tear out carpeting in our MBR and put hardwood floors in by myself. How is putting tile in, in comparison. Any advice? Thanks!

By all accounts Bart is an awesome guy. I appreciate him and the other guys who treat me just like any other poster, with respect and courtesy. A lesson that could be learned by some others on here.:toast:

Kel,
Go down to the tile district which is off of Carson and 121 there will be several tile outlets there that you will be able to choose from any type tile you want and any look you want and it will be vastly less pricey. From there, I did my kitchen, and both bathrooms and while I disagree about the spacers as a good Chalk line works wonders. As far as installers go email me and I can get someone to do it for very cheap if not free. You know how good my kitchen floor looks darlin so it isn't all that!!! Besides why didn't you just ask me first? Women..... anyway the email is the same as the name here only add 2002 and its at yahoo. Take care and I'll talk to you in a little bit. How you feeling today?
Much love and I always help,

Hey Cris - I actually know exactly where you're talking about. Good idea, I'll go check there this weekend if I can drag my butt away from all the games on. i don't mind paying for the work, I just want it well done and don't want to be screwed on the price. This will be a rental in a year or two, anyway. I'll let you know what I find out. Thanks, everyone, for your input.

Darlin,
A butt like that is never "dragged"!!!!

Travertine is a nice tile and you ought to consider it also, may be a hair more pricey but I like mine and it looks nice and the tiles are straight. Its a pain in the ass but not that difficult. Talk to you soon,

Cris
