What information do you have about the future of on-line gambling. Specificly what do you know about the Anti-Gambling bill that was brought up in congress to stop Off-Shore Casinos from exepting any type of money transfers. Kyle/Leach Bill. Your comments would be greatly appriciated.

i don't think anybody really knows what's going to happen because they've tried this before and it always got shot down.

now, however, they are using the terriost and money laundering 'pitch' to get this thing thru.

it's stop all of US banks from accepting checks, sending checks, accepting wires, sending wires and stop the use of credit cards and debit cards for making deposits and withdrawals to and from offshore books.

i'm not sure how it would affect the use of neteller yet.

you will still be able to use western union, which i use mostly anyway.

plus, a lot of the checks i receive from withdrawals i take from fedex are from US banks. i guess the books can open companies that aren't known to be sportsbooks and transfer between offshore and US?

they might try to stop sites like mine from advertising sportsbooks. no problem there, because i'll just move my server to somewhere where it's legal.

they'll never stop people from gambling.

also, i remember my first sportsbook (WSEX) about 6 or 7 years ago ONLY took bank wire and western union. it didn't seem to stop them from growing into one of the biggest and best.

i'm just not going to worry about it. i'll keep playing offshore one way or another.

I think Neteller is starting to get flagged. I had a buddy trying to open an account with Paradise Poker the other day, and the bank rejected his request to send money to Neteller because it was considered a gambling site.

I agree with Jack. I don't think they will be able to stop people from gambling. They should be concentrating on other things anyway.

Folks will set up a clearing house out side US. Money will be sent there and plays made from that point to the parlor. It will just be a bank account say in Canada.
Funny thing is big companies do this now to save on US taxes. They call it all legal.

Vast majority of your offshore bookmakers use to run shop here in the states. You think with all this technology out there that this will stop them? LOL..... They ran illegal in the states for years. LMAO.... Trust me offshore will always be a step ahead when it comes to payment solutions. Even if it was to find a way to stop all the gambling offshore do you really think all the locals will be closing shop also? They will be coming out of the woodwork once again... :)

JUST GOT SOME GOOD NEWS!!!

JUST GOT SOME GOOD NEWS!!!

First of all thank you Mad Jack for your response and your gambling site! This is the best gambling forum in the world!

This is what I found out. There are companies that will act as middle men ( I won't reveal names because our post might be monitored from the Anti Gambling Fagits) . How it works: You open an account just like a bank account. Then you transfer Money by Western Union, Credit Card, Ext. Once the money is in the account you can tranfer legally to ANY merchant that is registed. You can only transfer the money on line. It takes just a few minutes. Once the money has been transferred you call your merchant with the control number and your set. The cost will be picked up by the reciever. They may give you a free pass or duduct it from your account.

It appears to me that internet gambling has become a game of cat and mouse. The reason the Government wants to ban gambling is because thier not getting a piece of the pie.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the insight, guys. Very informative. The only thing I would add is that I do think that internet sites will take a serious hit if Western Union becomes the only way to send money. Any time you place limits on the way a business can take transactions it is likely to hurt the business.

It seems obvious that credit cards are on the chopping block, which isn't that terrible a thing to seasoned handicappers because with cash advance fees, etc., they aren't that great an option anyway. Obviously action players will miss credit card deposits.

I actually have a question for those with more knowledge about this than me: what do you think will happen to clearing houses like Neteller and Firepay? On the one hand you would think they could be clamped down on for sending money to books, but on the other hand if they can't touch Western Union, why would they be able to touch Neteller?

I think books get around Western Union by having the money sent to people or businesses that appear to not be sportsbooks but I don't know if Neteller could do the same. I would imagine that plenty of litigation would be ahead if they tried to close Neteller down.

Problem with that thinking is there are about 2 or 3 companys right now either launched or getting ready to launch payment solution alternatives.

Firpay I really don't know anything about. As in Neteller I really think they will be around for many years to come. The US gov would be pretty hard pressed to touch them IMO.... All this talk of the US gov shutting down Sports wagering IMO is comical at best. It has grown to fast and is to big now. I think in time they will realize that they are wasting there time with all the laws and would be better to regulate instead. If you look into some of the states that have passed laws for gambling on the net most of them read they want to go after the owner of the books. How the hell are they going to do that when what he is doing is legal.... Most states that have laws in place or trying mainly have the law read going after the bookie not so much the player.... It will be very interesting in the next 3-5 years to see where we stand.. The funniest thing of all of this is that the us gov thinks by stopping Internet wagering they will be curbing organized crime when in all reality they will be helping it... Just like many the us gov has watched way to many movies.. It is just another case of our gov not having a clue what they are talking about.
