This forum is pretty quite, but I know there are some people that can only play the poinies on the weekend so I thought I'd post some plays. I'm getting a little tired of seeing my top three picks complete a trifecta and nailing a trifecta at this track is good thing. A VERY good thing. No, it doesn't happen that often to me, but often enough and sure as hell rewarding enough to get me to give trifectas a try in my playable races for today. If ya ain't interested in "going for the jackpot (trifectas)" just consider my win horses as a Win and Place wager.

1st race
trifectas 1A,9/1A,2,3,7,9/1A,2,3,7,9. Even for a stinkin buck per tri, the total for these comes to $24.
ALSO..
exactas that should cover the cost of the tri's.... no. 4 TOP and BOTTOM with 1A, 9.

5th race
Trifectas 3,5/3,4,6,9/3,5,6,9 (no typo in there neither)
Exactas: no. 4 TOP and BOTTOM with the 3,5,6.
and..... (sorry bout this, another play) NO. 5 to WIN (6-1 M.L.)

9th race
Here we go again... quite a few excellent n pricey horses in this one and the race is competive as hell which should mean a bright toteboard especially when the prices lights up. And then there's that freaking Guerrero trained HOSS. It's the no. 8, Like An Eaglee.. Not gonna write about Guerrero again but I am gonna try to beat him cause there are some very competive entrees in this race at huge odds. Again, beating a horse entered by this trainer AIN'T easy and the Philly Phokes know it.

Here's the ones that I am focusing on -
no.5, Auto City (8-1) , ultra competitive and consistant. Not the jockey I'd like to see on him but Mangalee is the kinda jock that pulls off surprises from time to time. This one's got good early speed and already had his FIRST try over the Philly oval. No surprise if this one wins it all.

No.7, Rathor; are they kidding with the M.L. for this one... 20-1? Twelve times 1st or 2nd out of 15 starts in 2010 and all with very good times. He's a stalker which ain't good, but after that ... it's ALL GOOD. I'm gonna do something with this one but I'm just not sure what it is yet.

Then ya got EMMA. You know who she is? Emma came to Philly with one thing in mind - WINNING RACES. She is one hell of a rider and she better be with the nag she got stuck with today, no. 4, Phineas (15-1). This one only ran on the ALL WEATHER surfaces, in Canada (UGH), and has only done so/so too and also threw in a real stink bomb in it's last race. BUT, these races were WITHOUT EMMA on his back. Since she's on him - I'm on him too (NO, I don't play all her mounts but this one shows enough, BARELY). I'm thinking a med. to heavy play for show (this race should be OK to do the Show thingy with the prices and all). I like her chances of finishing in the moola in this race and she has pulled this off with similar type horses snce she's been visiting Philly. One thing fosho - she'll ride it for all he's (it's) worth.

I got these plays written down (not played yet) for the nightcap so far...

Exacta box, 5-7-8
No. 3 Win/Place (yeah, I didnt' mention this one above but it's nos./stats are about the best in the field and I believe the odds will be good enough to include this play.

and... no. 4 is gonna get played some way? Medium to heavy to show PROBABLY.

Good luck today whatever your sport is.

Gulfstream

Gulfstream

Funny thing, I'm about 45-50 miles straight north of Gulfstream. I've visted GP enough times to know that I had to find a different track to play. Exotic payoffs are just terrible.

Sorry, ajembassy, but I haven't been following Fla. racing for quite some time. Used to visit/play Calder but lost touch with that track awhile back. Calder is/was (?) a good bettor's track.

While I'm here.. . I see that the no. 5 got scratched from the last race at Philly. Soooo let's substitute the no. 11, FLIGHT TO EDEN, in that exacta box.

Good Luck at GP, ajembassy, it's a beautiful track. I've been to quite a few racetracks though and none of them measure up to Hialeah Pk. BEFORE the 1/4 jobbies took over. What a shame. That track had no rivals in it's HAYday inside or outside.

I've been lucky to see quite a few tracks as well, and Gulfstream would be right up there near my favourite. I enjoyed Gulfstream more than Del Mar.

Both are beautiful, though. Great places to spend a day!!

LUV visiting different tracks

LUV visiting different tracks

Thanks for sharing that, Sharky. I've never been to a track west of the Mississippi but I'm sure Cal. has some beauties. As far as the East Coast - I've pretty much hitem ALL. :)

I cannot express what I thought about Hialeah. My father went down there plenty of times and all I thought about was how that place must have been back then. Built like a castle, beautiful grounds and the little nooks and crannies inside the place were just something else. I was sooo impressed even though I visited that place, numreous times, AFTER it started to get a little run down. Sure beats Saratoga in my book.

Getting back to today - well, without seeing them before the race, I Got me a pretty healthy piece of that no. 7 (Rathor, M.L. 20-1) in the 9th. I'd love to get those odds.

Played the ole W/PL/SH routine.. 3x the amount on the Show bit. Last time I did that (no. 7 in the last race) it was "Smooth Sailing" the rest of the way so I hope the seas behave the same today. Sho wish I woulda taken a heavier bite outa that one.

Might see a race or two for tomorrow but it's MONDAY and TUESDAY that I always look forward to.

Good luck, NFLers... I can't come up with anything for them this weekend. And thanks for stopping in, Sharky.

Summary

Summary

Catching that last $23.20 zacta didn't exactly save the day :(

Best move I made in that last race was NOT sending it in on EMMA'S hoss in the 9th.

Worst move?... well, hitting that no. 7 hoss accross the board didn't help matters any. Rathor went off at 11-1, doesn't matter though cept the fact that I didn't have to put very much accross on him (3x the Show though). If I had to do it all again, think I'd RATHOR just skip that last race.

Gotta get through Sunday.. and then - LET THE GAMES BEGIN.

That DAMNED snow better stay away Monday and Tuesday.

Put on yer tennis thinking cap on cause there's gonna be plenty of ACTION on the way REAL soon. I'll have to switch tracks and spend some time with that "Dynamic Canadian Duo" again in the Tennis Forum (Off the Wall place).

You know, the man in RED (the Tennis Wizard) is gonna be doiing his usual ass whippin thang AGAIN. We just have to see if he's still in one piece. He's been doing the exhibition thing lately, playing Federer and the other top guns. You know, the greedy bastages are done ruining hoss (thoroughbred and harness) wacin, had partial success ruining basebawl, and now thems working on tennis.

Good luck NFLin tomorrow.
