I said 3 weeks ago....watch out for Ryan Miller.....Canada far and away the better team. But no position is more important in sports then a hockey goalie. None.

And Ryan Miller came up huge and beat Canada all by himself. Huge props to Miller.

Canada will still get the gold, just gotta play an extra game now.

HOMER;)

It is. Although your proclamation of gold is just a wee bit cocky. You must have a short memory, your boys needed OT vs the swiss.

Canada did outplay the US as a whole but there were quite a few stretches where the US held the play. Canada much stronger in the trenches and cycling down low.

I am sure even the most die-hard USA fan could see that Canada outplayed em, sure some good stuff from USA. But come on Canada was all over em......but this happens in hockey all the time.

No position in any sport is more important then a hockey goalie

Miller won that game, not by luck....by skill, he beat Canada all by himself.

Canada won't get shut out like that again, all that puck movement will find the net. Just like in any sport you can only take so much.

Canada will be fine, the pressure is insane on these guys, but they'll get it done.

Only way ya beat Canada is by doing what Miller did.

gmroz.....you couldn't be more wrong.....not even close.

A pitcher pitches once every 4 games....doesn't hit (in American league) and is only involved in half the game (if he pitches a complete game).

You are way way off.

Nothing comes close to a hockey goalie....nothing. No position in ANY sport is more important then a hockey goalie...none.

As much as you'd like to gloss it over, let's treat this for what it is. Canada's biggest game on the olympic stage in quite some time getting beat in their own backyard. Getting beat at what is pretty much their national past time by a country where the sport is pretty much an afterthought.

They still have a great chance to win the next 4 but I think it's pretty funny how you are acting like this loss means nothing.

putting things in perspective, not a huge loss for canada. means they have to win 4 in a row instead of 3 like usa. they outshot usa 45-22, are bigger and pushed the american team around pretty good. but we have miller and I'm from buffalo so i knew he'd keep us in the game. he made some amazing saves. should be fun from here on out...

wouldn't be surprised to see US lose next game, sort of the classic letdown situation after a big rivalry win.

Sure the loss hurts.....but Canada got beat by a hot goalie.....Canada has a complete team....USA relies on Miller.....I'll take the talented TEAM over the hot goalie. Miller can only take ya so far. Although if any goalie can win the gold all by himself it is Miller.

USA would be fucked without Miller....simple as that.

Miller is the USA hockey team, the players would even tell ya that.

Canada will be just fine, losing a game in prelims means little, although it does hurt.

Canada dominated the game, everybody knows that. But you gotta put the puck in the net, domination doesn't mean ya always win.

Yeah I know dude just giving you shit. Brodeur can't even be faulted for most of the goals....a few unlucky deflections.

Kickserv,

I do believe that Canada will win this thing but you shouldn't presume it.. You made the point for the US already.. Miller is the hockey team according to you and goaltending is the most important position in any sport.. You just made a point for the US... I myself do believe the Canada will win it but some confidence was taken out of their sails.. Also you see it everynight in the NHL when a team outplays another but still loses.. Just saying. I love hockey but having the pros takes something away.. Its too bad it couldn't be all college aged kids for ALL coountries.

Kyle: So now it is based on the most important position for the season? On a single game basis, the pitcher in a baseball game transform the game. For example, the last place Royals put Zach Greinke on the mound against the AL Central leader, and the game will be a toss up (odds wise).

tsn.ca receives credit for the following:

Kudos to the Americans for handing the Canadian team their so-called ''heart'' on a platter to them. I think it about time Hockey Canada Bob Nicholson either retires, steps down or is fired. His track record over the years is at an all time low and his lack of testicular fortitude against Gary Bettman and U.S.A Hockey is clearly visible due to his unconcern over the fact the NHL is giving 8 million a year to USA Hockey for player development while Hockey Canada is only receiving 250 000 a year. The 6 Canadian NHL teams generates over a 1/3rd of overall league revenue and Canada is basically subsidizing USA Hockey meanwhile Bob Nicholson is sleeping cozy in the burbs in Calgary far away from grassroots hockey in Canada.

Kickserve, stop being such a homer! lol
