yes Tom is great ,

but we all know a little pressure and gets knock around some you can stop him . think if he played in the 60 70 or 80' they would rattle him every game . with the rules they have today yes he is the best . cant hit the qb or touch a wideout would love to see the old school qb's with these rules they would have 25% better stats .

since tom started playing he is the best this era ....

It is tough to compare different era's...

It takes more than a "little" pressure to stop him... :0003

Houston bout got them with pressure and a shit qb . just saying

Denver beat his ass in the ground

2-15 third down attempts

2-4 4th down attempts

QB rating of 56.4 w/2 INT's

when the opposing offense had a whopping 244 yards of total offense.

and the opposing QB..gave him the ball w/an INT and only amassed 179 yards passing like a boroken down mule

Pats never led in the game and where down 20-12 w/13 seconds left w/a late score making the final look closer than it actually was..

Pressure............he succumbs to it..plain and simple ..ya get him off his spot and ya pound him to the dirt..

greatest of all time...certainly is the conversation when the main criteria is SB wins..

not a mortal lock for the title...rules changes alone make that comparison invalid..

now 4-0 Joe in an Era when it was legal to decapitate an opposing player and mug anyone going out for a pass ...you can start their w/the comparisons

13 TD's no Int's and a QB rating of 127.8 for the 4 biggest games in his life.

the biggest stage w/near perfect performance

Bob Griese went to 3 super bowls and won 2 !!! :nono::nono:
He also THREW for over 25,000 yards in his career.
Not to mention that is damn GOOD considering he had
2 1000 yard rushers on his team named Larry Czonka
and Mercury Morris. Miami RAN the ball more than they
threw it by the way. So considering all that Griese had FANTASTIC
numbers and also if you think this isnt true then google where Bob Griese
ranks in the NFL 50 greatest Quarter Backs are. You will be very SURPRISED.:nono::nono:

I watched a good portion of their games as they were one of the best teams in football for a decade or more. When he went out with injury Earl Morrall (who was like 70 at the time) I believe kept them undefeated. Griese was a game manager with an average arm and made very few mistakes. If you use your criterion above then Russell Wilson is almost in the same category now. I love Russell Wilson but neither he nor Griese should be mentioned as one of best QBs of all time.

Getting his 2nd sb and going to 4 total I think locks him into the 'best ever' discussion....he did it in Era playing vs the top coach/qb tandem ever in brady/bilicick... and beat them on route to both his super bowl wins and I think the year they lost to Seattle...

2 rings and 4 appearances combined with almost every regular season record that matters....I'd have no issue with someone selecting him as best ever

They way he manipulated defenses and called plays...throwing the ball to so many receivers

Brady is elite and also in the discussion....his style just isn't as fun to watch for me...5 yd passes and letting wrs run....still amazing that he can always find the open man but just not as exciting for me

Peyton to me is the funnest qb ever to watch on the field and has a helluva resume

Put Peyton with hoodie and I think they win even more then brady has

I really don't think you can pick "best ever"....every guy had different coaches/schemes/personnel/etc...if Montana played with bilicick....if brady had montanas wrs....if Peyton had Elway running backs....you can do it for everyone.....so really top 5-8 all deserve consideration

1. Montana
2. Brady
3. Manning
4. Unitas
5. Favre
6. Elway
7. Young
8. Marino
9. Aikman
10. Brees (I think most will disagree but he's done things that put him up here for me)
11. Staubach
12. Bradshaw
13. Starr
14. Griese
15. Big ben
16. Namath

Honorable mention- moon/warner/tarkenton

-Now, looking at Current qbs who can finish top 40 ever...

Rodgers will be there in the top 20 if isn't already... ecspecially if another title and continues padding stats....he just need to add some more yrs with consistency and he's a lock for top 20

Eli will never be considered top 20 but his playoff runs are unheralded and honestly beating the undefeated pats team was epic...his regular season success over the long term combined with his playoff success and he's top 40 ever already...has a chance to add to it

Rivers needed to win more playoff games and a title to ever sniff top 40 qbs of all time...

Flacco has to win more but helluva start his first 8 yrs

Matt Ryan needs this sb to vault himself into having a chance to finish top 40 ever

Russ Wilson has to do a lot more....he had best rb and defense for 3-4 yrs and benefited from it....needs to do more himself when teams down around him to be considered a top 40 type at end of career

Cam- needs to win consistently and stop being a diva bitch

Luck- to young to tell

Carr- see "luck"

To many variables and rules changes to pick best ever...but put gun to my head I'm saying Montana with brady a close 2 and Manning not far behind

I think players and eras evolve. A good player of the 50s or 60's has to be considered as good now as he was then.

They would adapt to the size and conditioning and equipment of today. Otherwise you can't have this discussion.

I read some where that Mark Spitz Olympic records he set in swimming while winning 7 gold medals would not even qualify for the womans team today. Does that mean if he was in his prime he wouldn't be a record setting swimmer?

both replace this guy

with all due respect to the addict..

Broadway Joe is probably the most overrated QB in NFL history

Oh boy I cannot believe I forgot Kelly

Was going off top of head but yes if I had list in front of me, I agree with old school....Kelly for sure as well as fouts....

Namath I've only ever watched 3 of his game films..they were all wins so I suppose I only saw the good...

My dad is a huge raiders fan....huge fan....

Plunkett he loved....but he would have my head not putting Stabler on this list....he thinks he's most underrated qb to play the game....and all the guy did was win....Plunkett and Stabler probably both deserve top 25 consideration....my dad would have Stabler top 10 just because all he did was win....Plunkett longevity hurts his status some but he was a legend for his time

I'd probably personally take Favre over all but brady/manning/Montana

I love his competitiveness and durability...
Combine that with an electric arm and a passion for the game of football and it's deadly....but the key for
me, similar to big ben now, was his ability to create...his improvisational skills were unmatched and he was a winner

Besides Manning he was probably the 2nd most entertaining qb to watch play the game in my opinion

Brady deserves either the 1 or 1.A spot on this list, but schemes and styles make him less fun to watch....but I'd take him over all else most likely besides joe...

I wish we could have seen brady without bilicick for at least a few years....having that coach makes it hard to determine who was more valuable and crucial to the pats long term success...I mean hoodie went 3-1 with jacoby brissett and Jimmy garropolo....those two couldn't maintain long term like brady has, but makes you wonder if any of the upper Escalon qbs could win in that system .....rivers/romo/Carson palmer...I'm curious and always will be to know if guys at that similar talent level could have become legends with hoodie....

But again I can't allow that to take away from what brady has accomplished....this thread is about brady being best ever....and regardless of coach/era/schemes, it's impossible to not have him top 3 of all and most likely 1 or 2....

Nooooo no no

For some reason I forgot him

For some reason he lands closer to 15-20 on most sites "best ever" lists...if he would have won even one of the super bowls, I'm sure he'd be higher on most....cause he was surgical in a tough offense and I'm pretty sure he called all his plays....that is tough to do and he did it while managing to rack up stats....and wins....Guy was impressive

Where it is real F ing COLD
Without Brady, he's 51-65.

With Brady, he's 136-39....ERRR 137-39 :0074

Here is why Brady is best ever.. NFL with salary cap is built to shift competitive balance so there are no dynasties.. He's done this with 3 different sets of players.. Montana and those guys from those eras didn't have cap and had the same super stars year after year. They didn't need OTAS and mini camps etc. Brady just lost his best offensive playmaker in Gronk and is on verge of winning
