Did not play it was good with what i had and saw it late, but nice job finding the scalp. And even nicer to post it most people do not post a scalp like to keep it low so even though did not play it was a nice job with the shopping. Thats why you should have 4-5 books, hard to do it unless offshore would have to drive all over town here unless you pay a runner when 1 comes up. Boxing and golf you can find them and tennis because not lots of money at times and move on very little all though golf gets a lot of action out here.

have a good weekend

Appreciate the words, Eric. It's just unfortunate that those of us that were on it weren't able to cash in. Another way of bookies swindling us. But thanks for the words.:thumb:

i disagree....it was clearly an obvious mistake.......maybe something where there is +110 +110 or +130 -120 is a good scalp but +170 +155 with numbers that close you know it was a mistake.....clearly trying to take advantage of the book with an honest error.....

Sorry Freeze....that is the "politically correct" answer. It IS the right thing to do, not to take advantage of the book. But how many of you out there think that the book would take advantage of us? The kind of book that makes a mistake on the line is probably the type of book that would take advantage of us. Sorry...it is not our job as the bettor to know what line the book SHOULD have posted. That is their job. If they fail to do their job...I will not fail to do my job as a bettor, and that is to find the best line possible. There are only a select few books that I would feel guilty doing something like this...and those books are so reputable, that they would never make a line mistake.

Tony, good job in scoping the books out and finding the "mistake" You were just doing your job.

Every book has made a mistake at one point or another. WSEX is as reputable as an offshore book gets. Obvious error and the book has every right to cancel the wager. Instead of trying to take advantage of the mistake, let the book know about it. That way, in a case like this where you try and scalp off an obviously erroneous line, you won't get caught with your pants down holding only one side of the 'scalp'.

Plus the book will usually reward you with some cash or a free parlay for letting them know of the error.

only thing you get out of an obvious mistake like this is you get stuck with a big bet on the other side at the legitimate line from the mistake free book.....agreed, do the honest thing and let the book know about their mistake.....then everyone wins cuz they usually give you some small reward and treat you right in the future

I must of mis read yesterday i will go back i thought he found it at 2 different books with a little off that made a nice scalp either way he was shoping. but if it is 2 different books on a small off type sport how do you know its a mistake? i have boxing here on 1 fight at -260 on something i see off shore 1 book has - 340 and another has -420 so do you call those mistakes no its books adjusting lines on bets on smaller bet sports ,i will go back and read his later maybe mis understood. or some one can give me the cliff notes fast so i don't have to go back. but if it was at 2 different books then not ripping one off if line was close. like i said i read it fast.

it was 155 -170 at one book and +165 -150 reversed or somewhere in the neighborhood at all the other books.....obvious error they reversed the line not a scalp

thanks doc so i didnot have to go look back i thought it was a 30-40 cent difference just glanced, when it is a flip like that you know it's a mistake. but still good to shop the books you can find them but it's a lot of work and takes cash to make good hits. boxing you can always almost work a good one out, or what you think is good, but thee is always the chance of the off shore draw at some books or dq can also mess you up.

thanks for explaining it in short.

First, with a lot of luck, I ended up winning $600 yesterday on that match as Kafelnikov pulled one out of his ass and won the match. I wagered on Safin at the favored line and bought back only about half the amount, so I was luckily able to come out on the winning side. This was THE first time I did anything like this, and I learned the hard way, although I did win some bucks. But ONE thing I ask myself is, if WSEX did not find the mistake, will they have given back my money after the match? Just one of those things that makes you say hmmm. But again, I wasn't trying to scam anyone. In the future, I will let them know of these lines.
